Why is Urban Pol full of racist threads?

I don't like saying he's right, so I'll just say he's not wrong.:D

The degeneration of this thread is an illustration of how the left taking up such positions will always see them beat, because lets face it, the fash and other bigots are just much better at this kind of think. Once we get into the position of "looking out for our own first", of previleging one section of the working class over another, and further more have these sections defined by nationality and race, we are beat, you might as well just pass the baton to the fash straight away.

 .. i would not like you to be my shop steward ..

I really dont think that MC5 should be described as Racist....Though it could be argued ( not by me,heavens no) that his views on migration could be subconcious racism........

And you can stick your attempt at Freudian analysis where the sun don't shine.

Did you not pay any attention to fridgemagnet on your new thread when he asked you not to cut and paste massive articles?

cos over and over people say 'wheres the evidence' .. as soon as i/we provide they clam ..

this article shows overwhelmingly that third world nurses leaders are AGAINST poaching by the west .. something which posters have been denying absolutely ..

p.s. did you report me :p

actually i was going to edit .. but if i had taken out the stuff about remittances to Phillapines i would have been accussed of hiding that stuff

Is it a surprise that western capitalism uses the ex-colonies to its own ends? Who cares if a few (million) blacks die and a Labour or Tory politician can point to a well staffed NHS? But what does this have to do with immigration? Are there millions of nurses flooding into the country? Or maybe even thousands? In their green uniforms?

rauscher .. read the articles .. third world nurses attacking this poaching .. while our state refuses to train kids up so middle england doesn't have to pay more tax .... THAT is the bullshit ..

MC5....I think your response shows that as a childyou lacked affection....You saw common cause with the underdog in society and turned to left wing politics.....Then you found the underdogs generally didnt like you and instead of wanting to buy your papers they would rather piss on them.......Now you wander the bulletin boards in a state of depressed anger and hopelessness....

See! Start a thread and they all come out of the woodwork. The only thing you left out there was the usual guff about Britain being saddled with a Scottish government. What a plonker.

"They" who is they?

Then what you do is what most other people do, you post a link and a summary of what the article says, and then you comment on it.

What you don't do is cut and paste the whole thing verbatim.

I noticed that the nurses' leaders were saying that. My question is "what do the nurses themselves think".
See, I'm concerned with the people on the "shop floor", not the people in the guvnor's office or their lackeys.
p.s. did you report me :p
No.
You might be a plum, but you're not a wanker.

That's why you post a link; so that people have to read the whole article if they want to comment.

Bigoted? LOL, I've never expressed any bigotry. I just believe Britain like every other country out there, needs to have immigration controls. What's so fucking bigoted about that?

historically .. sadly it is a fact that the irish were used to break strikes in ireland, in dundee particularly
I didn't bother reading the rest of your tripe after you managed to place Dundee in Ireland. You're such a cosmopolitan aren't you!?

There is no need to resort to abuse. Oh of course, yes there is, because you don't have any logical argument or reasoning to offer.
Oh my god, I'm being deconstructed by a Tory little Englander

The open boarders brigade are still making me laugh, how they believe this will connect with even a significant minority of working class Brits in the presently highly globalised and employment rights destabilised world is beyond me.

Trade Union Consciousness.
Something difficult for you dizzy ultra leftists to contemplate.
However working classs militants come to terms with this on a day to day basis!!!!!!!!

thank you for the etiquette lecture

so you think that the nurses themselves do not agree?

as individuals yes maybe they also too want to emigrate .. i would suggest that overwhelmingly though they know this is not good though for their country/people

p.s. bolshieboy .. i say the bhoys win the league at tannadice too that year .. (supportted them casually ever since) .. were you there? ;)

Nope was watching in Kilburn.

But if you've been around Tims then durruti02 I would have thought you'd be a little more sensitive to the need not to treat immigrants as a problem. Irish immigrants weren't the problem in Scotland in the 19th century (despite what sectarian bigots, including some socialists said). And their modern equivalents aren't either. How the left and trades unions approach immigrant workers certainly is.

How many Dockers of Irish descent marched in support of Enoch Powell?

Most people of Immigrant stock are firmly against mass migration as they are most likely to be competing for jobs and housing.....The middle class left never seem to mention or understand this.

I think you might be right (if you mean 'immigration' rather than migration) in my experience, but have you any evidence?

Chris there have been a number of polls to show this...And talking to people is also a good way of finding out what they think....
I dont think too many Black or Asian people would support mass migration...The only ones who seem to are a very narrow section of people taken in by white liberalism who are in no way representative of most Black or Asian peoples views.

If there is a shortage of jobs and housing it's because of the neo-liberal policies of Blair not immigrants.

Yes there people who want to pull up the drawbridge behind them after they've made it. And among the irish in britain there has always been a tendency to deflect racism from themselves by blaming those of a different colour. But there is another tradition among working class irish here, one of fighting with other workers, regardless of their race against the boss class and it's sytem. There is an argument inside every 'community' about blaming immigrants or the system.

Our side is the minority in that debate, true enough. But your capitulation to peoples' prejudices advances progressive politics in this country how exactly?

"Pulling up the Drawbridge" A phrase that says a lot about the Racism Bigotry and Ignorance of the Liberal Middle Class.

I have not once blamed Immigrants or people from Immigrant stock....I leave that to closet Racists like you....
