I think Trump is remarkably fit for a 78 year old, following as he is the insane schedule a candidate has to follow. He's rambling more an more, but in that he's getting closer and closer to the dictator who just says shit. He's barely the Republican candidate at all now. Instead he's managed to position himself as heir to numerous conspiracies and anxieties. Populism and worse. There's so much more to honestly go after him for. He's fucking scum, a racist, a rapist and someone so self obsessed he'll twist every bit of the American system and constitution to serve himself. He's also billionaire scum, the absolute enemy of working class people and plenty of other groups.

I did listen to the Rogan podcast - mainly because I wanted to hear him rather than just the clips that make it onto social media. He's definitely showing some signs of slowing down if you compare him to 2016 or earlier, but I don't see any particular signs of cognitive impairment. I'd be happy if I had his energy at 78 years!

Yeah, it feels weird saying anything even slightly complimentary about Trump, but he appears to have a strong constitution. He apparently does no exercise and apparently eats shite. Even if that's not true, he still has the best health money can buy.
I really wanted him to die when he had Covid. Though if I only had one wish it would have been for Johnson to peg it.

Kamala Harris will get more votes, but Trump will still say he won. His legal challenges will work this time, and the Supreme Court will give him the presidency.

I follow someone on social media who is a compassionate outreach worker for homeless people in Philadelphia and is from Puerto Rico. She just posted up something about voting for Trump. WTF. I respectfully said he was a dangerous choice and even though Harris wasn't who I'd want to vote for, I still wouldn't want Trump. They keep asking me to 'read this' 'watch that' 'Trumps the only one who follows his policies and acts on things' wtf it made me really alarmed and depressed

I cannot get why the American press isn't screaming about how one of the candidates planning to put someone who destroyed a business by firing everyone in charge of 'efficiency' in government departments, guaranteeing the removal of people who are there to guard rights, safety, fairness, integrity etc; and a man against all vaccines in charge of health, which could lead to the deaths of thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands of people.

Just been listening to a bit of discussion on a US anarcho podcast about the election while making my tea (if anyone's curious, it's here, but it's the last segment in a very long episode, from about 1:50 or so onwards). One of the hosts made the point that if you look at the polling in places like North Carolina and Arizona, they make it look really close in NC and like Trump is strongly in the lead in AZ, but if you look at the polling for the senate race in AZ and the governership in NC, they show a really consistent lead for the Democrats. Which I suppose might be that voters are just more enthusiastic about Trump than other Republicans, but might also very well be that there's something wrong the modelling used for Presidential polls that's making things look better for Trump than they actually are. That, and the early voting suggesting high turnout, seem like reasons to be hopeful of a Harris win. (With all the obvious caveats about what Harris stands for, of course.)

I didn't need to. He is losing it big time. Where did I say that was due to his age? He has been losing it for years. Check out the mental health professionals I referred to earlier. If he was such a dazzling picture of health, he would release his records. Oh hang on, Dr Feelgood Ronny gave him a glowing report that bore no resemblance to his height and weight and said he could live for years as he is so healthy

I mean, I find it very difficult to imagine anyone going "sure, I'll vote for Trump, but this other Republican just seems too nuts", but if there are voters like that, I suppose Mark Robinson could probably give Lake a fair run for her money in the voter-repelling stakes.

It dies seems weird and there probably aren't many of them but there are Republican leaning voters that will just voter the GOP candidate for President but don't vote all the way down ticket - after all Manchin survived, Tester got elected in Montana.

If Trump wins I'll have to check in with my cousin because he and his partner will be moving to Berlin for the safety of her 20 year old daughter who is trans. They can move there because he works for Google and they can transfer his job and she can move due to German citizenship she got a few years ago because her grandfather was a victim of the Nazis. The fucking irony of a Jewish American potentially having to run to Germany for the safety of her child.

He's fucking weird and deeply unpleasant, but his weird-folksy-very weird delivery pattern actually worked and created an anti-politician persona that was highly successful. It bemuses me, but then I'm not his target audience. Have a feeling he's losing his touch with all the rambling and stuff. But that's not the point, he's long since plugged into the resentments and fears created by neo-liberalism and politics as normal.
