I was being sarcastic and hopefully trying to agree with you. Though satire and humour were important weapons against the nazis at times I can't find any examples of contemporary people saying 'just let them get on with it and they'll make idiots of themselves'.
 
also, even though I think the whole numbers code is a bit silly, just noticed it's December 13th, so merry acab day everyone. Although not if you're american because they write their dates the wrong way around.

Well correct me if I'm wrong but I think you're being a tad optimistic there :)

I was thinking that if you've got gangs of nazi thugs roaming the streets attacking innocent bystanders then it's going to be clear to most people what needs to be done with them.

If you've got gangs of nazi thugs roaming the streets fighting with antifa then it's going to be easier for Trump to paint it as the nazis standing up for plucky america against the antifa thugs.

What needs to be done that is "clear to most people"?
Don't you agree that antifa should be the default position?
If "most people" took action earlier then antifa wouldn't need to be fighting them on the streets, who it's usually left to to stop the right wing thugs getting more of a toe hold

Yep agree with you. I originally put it as a question. I just feel that in January the police might do what they're supposed to be doing rather than standing by. If they don't then certainly continue as it is now.
 
I'd not trust the US police service to suddenly take a more reserved approach

like the us in general, its more ingrained than anyone would like to admit
 
Again I'd agree with you. But the best way to handle this surely would be for fascists who attack people to be arrested, taken to court and if found guilty imprisoned. If the police don't arrest them then that's going to be very visible and Biden can hopefully start to address that. Because that needs addressing too.

If there are running battles on the streets then the police can do as they do now - arrest the antifa while letting the fascists loose. It's not as visible.

So the police are going to save us from racist thugs. Riiiiiiight.
 
Maybe this is just me being wildly paranoid and pessimistic, but one thing that I reckon might happen is, instead of just "fascists attack people and everyone agrees that's bad", you might get more like "fascists provoke/physically attack people in the streets, and then film it and selectively edit it to only show the bits when they start fighting back, and then it goes viral and gets promoted all over the internet as 'CRAZY BLM THUG ATTACKS PATRIOTS, GETS KNOCKED OUT'" or similar.

Yes you'll get that anyway. Other people filming could show the whole scene which could be used as evidence.

I'd just like to see the fascists locked up. Street battles don't necessarily do that. If antifa can beat them on the streets then great but I'm wondering whether that's possible if a lot of the police are actually on the side of the fascists.
 
in DC maybe but they have had 2 reasonably large protests with little arrest's recently by nationalists

saying that if were from the state and you could and where willing would you be happy with the far right marching past your home
