Dont think ive seen anything like this yet in the last 4 years - seems to me every interviewer and every spokesperson has basically been pandering to Trump, basically enabled the whole process, by remaining calm and pretending its normal but a bit embarrassing. I’d agree with this.
There’s a danger (?) that sane people are getting kinda tired of the crazy merry go round and start to turn their attention to other things, like normal life; that allows space for the shit to ferment and grow into a seething monster with legs. The loyal Trump people will continue to lap this all up for as long as Trump keeps spewing it out.
Non-Trump supporters run the risk of complacency. Maybe not right away, (this sewer will continue to flow even if it’s out of sight) but maybe in a year or two, certainly in the run up to the 2024 election, regardless of whether Trump runs or not, the problems will be re-arise.
(Apologies for all the metaphors & analogies but I really can’t find the language to talk about all this in ordinary terms.)
