Yes me too. I had to check and yes nobody anywhere is trying to deny that he murdered two people at a demonstration.
If this isnt condoning and encouraging terrorism right from the top (the president's fucking lawyers who are all over the tv) idk what is. Probably a good thing that I am still shockable at this point but yeah, that is amazing to me.

I never really expected them to cave, I 'm sure Trump tried to bribe/cajole/threaten to get his way. But at the end of the day his cunning plan isn't likely to work and they would be the ones risking their political careers and possibly their freedom to benefit him.
I don't delude myself they have principles but self-interest is a wonderful thing.

"we raised over $2M for his bail and a portion of his defence costs" should tell you everything about why these lawyers are bravely raising a fortune for that lad's inevitable guilty plea to slightly lesser charges

If it was simple venality (is that a word?) that would be nice. I don't think it is. They're at the frontline of the 'culture war' and are elevating as posterboy an actual murderer and thats not good.

Was tweeted later than the Michigen statement. I can believe they have had threats. Fingers crossed for Monday both Rep AND Dems could do more to defuse situation
 
The Republicans are backing trump in the hope that any faith in democracy is destroyed. They were preaching earlier in the year that if they lost this election due to the uptake in voter registration by ‘people of colour’ they would never win another election. I will try to find the article.

Fuck me, that is just barefaced lying. I'm almost ashamed that I've been following that conservative old twat Raffensperger so closely, but he did not order the recount/audit 'when confronted with reports of numerical anomalies, procedural errors and alleged malfeasance'. That's not even slightly true. He ordered the recount/audit because the race was so tight, and did so before they'd even finished counting, and he chose the presidential election bit of it because it seemed the most significant count to choose, quite reasonably. At no point did he express anything other than total confidence that the recount and audit would go smoothly and find nothing remiss. They did find missing votes in the audit, but they did not suspect anything was missing before doing it.
 
I’m not enjoying it so much, it’s just dragging on a bit now. I did get a bit invested in it all ahead of the election, and was looking forward to having a bit more time away from it after, but the narcissistic fucker is refusing to die or have a significantly rewarding (for us) meltdown. Someone’s got to land a missile down that exhaust pipe sooner or later.
