I'm a bit confused by the US system, but they appear to have machine counting and hand counting. This time around, they're fully counting the paper record by hand.

I think.

Mind you there is also this.

Hand counts are generally less reliable than machine counts, according to Larry Norden, an elections expert with the Brennan Center for Justice.

yeah, the loons will be all over that. ‘How many more memory sticks?’ etc.

I suppose it’s a more secure way of transporting electronic votes than sending over the internet, if that makes sense, but there should always be a paper audit anyway.

Anyway, I reckon Trump’s lot hacked the election, he got masses more votes than anyone would have expected, way out of line with polling and performance. His refusal to admit defeat is just because this was supposed to be fixed for him and he can’t understand how it didn’t work.

Team Trump legal cases are going well, according to a Professor of Law at the University of Pennsylvania interviewed on Sky News just now - zero wins out of 24 cases so far, due to a complete lack of evidence in each case.

President Donald Trump on Tuesday fired the Department of Homeland Security official who had rejected Trump's claims of widespread voter fraud.

Trump announced on Twitter he was firing Chris Krebs, the director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, and directly tied it to Krebs' statement that said there "is no evidence that any voting system deleted or lost votes, changed votes, or was in any way compromised."

"The recent statement by Chris Krebs on the security of the 2020 Election was highly inaccurate, in that there were massive improprieties and fraud," Trump said in a tweet before repeating multiple baseless conspriacy theories about the election. "Therefore, effective immediately, Chris Krebs has been terminated as Director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency."

CNN reported that Krebs, who ran the cyber arm of the Department of Homeland Security, expected to be fired.

In the lead-up to the election, Krebs had often quietly disputed the President's repeated false claims about mail-in ballots but went out of his way to not get drawn into criticizing his boss for spreading lies.
But in the days that have followed, Krebs has adopted a more forceful approach regularly posting on Twitter -- often with blaring red siren emojis -- fact checks of the claims and conspiracy theories being pushed by Trump, his allies and supporters around the country.

not over the top - just saying that you can't compare the two countries elections.
So using Canada as an example to discredit Dominion is absurd.

Not worried about refugees from the States.
All non-essential travel is banned between our countries.
If you are allowed in, you must self quarantine for two weeks.

Every time there is an issue, google says "how do I become a Canadian" (or something similar) gets high searches.
They don't come here because it is very hard to become a Canadian.

Last big influx of Americans seeking refuge here was during the Vietnam war.
Canada let them stay, and even after the States granted the draft dodgers amnesty, many remained here.
