US election 2020 thread

Team Trump legal cases are going well, according to a Professor of Law at the University of Pennsylvania interviewed on Sky News just now - zero wins out of 24 cases so far, due to a complete lack of evidence in each case. :D
He doesn't need to win any of them to create a narrative of a stolen election and a justice system that won't even listen to the evidence. Which he needs whether he's starting a news network or a putsch. Or both. And it's all other people's money.

Yep. The idea that it's all about some actual lawsuits with evidence of widespread fraud is clearly misdirection at this point, the facts do not matter.
The absolute state of this though, this is the Chairman of the federal election comission saying evidence shmevidence if the crazy trump lawyer says the election was stolen he believes her.

I've become slightly obsessed with this sidney powell person (who trumpers are counting on to overturn the election result) and she is properly batshit insane, obsessed by Soros and the spectre of communism and an absolutely off the deep end conspiracy theorist.

He's another Trump appointment and registered Republican. It seems utterly insane to me that people in such positions are political appointments and act in such a partisan way. Makes me wonder what might happen if people like Raffensberger in Georgia weren't so principled.

Fucking hell, according to the NY Times he wants to attack Iran before he goes.

I wondered if he might try to pull this.

He hasn’t yet had his own war so he was saving that up for his second term. This is probably the clearest sign yet that he knows he’s leaving the WH.

I know it's on the posters, I've just not noticed it being such a thing to talk about the xx / xx ticket of the rival party in previous elections. And I don't think I've seen the dems talking much about the trump / pence ticket this time round either.

Have to say that Pence turned out to be much less influential than I’d feared. I suppose because Trump was far more overbearing and active than I’d hoped.

On balance, I would think it is in Harris's best interests to have her name bandied around as much as possible. VPs can be a bit anonymous (eg Pence), and a prominent role throughout Biden's presidency is likely to be to her advantage if he only stays for one term and she is the candidate next time. Being the incumbent is normally an electoral asset, after all. So if the Repubs want to constantly remind people who the VP is, the Dems should probably not be too displeased.

North Dakota has certified:

Trump 235,595 (65.1%)
Biden 114,902 (31.8%)

2.4 point swing against Trump
5.1% increase in votes cast.

FL due to certify today. VA is overdue but should be soon

ffs

Georgia’s secretary of state Brad Raffensperger has said that Senator Lindsey Graham asked whether it was possible to invalidate legally cast ballots after Donald Trump was narrowly defeated in the state.

In an interview with the Washington Post, Raffensperger said that his fellow Republican, the chairman of the Senate judiciary committee, questioned him about the state’s signature-matching law and asked whether political bias might have played a role in counties where poll workers accepted higher rates of mismatched signatures. According to Raffensperger, Graham then asked whether he had the authority to toss out all mail-in ballots in these counties.

Raffensperger was reportedly “stunned” by the question, in which Graham appeared to suggest that he find a way to throw out legally cast absentee ballots.

One of my earliest football memories is Man United going out of the European Cup in the Semis in 1969, after losing the tie 2-1 to AC Milan. In the second leg they had a goal disallowed because the ref didn't see it had gone over the line. For about a week I thought the injustice would be overturned... somehow. Basically, I was Trump.

I remember next door neighbour’s youngest kid playing my brother at basketball and losing badly.
He deliberately burst his own ball and insisted he had won despite trailing by about 5 goals. That’s Trump, that is

He has form for not paying them so a lot of them will be reluctant to work for him anyway, plus no self-respecting lawyer wants the judge to remember him as the guy who kept coming into the courtroom with dumb cases and trying to plead something that is blatantly false is actually true. Once Trump has gone and left them with an unpaid bill they still have to earn a crust.

The results of the Georgia recount are due tomorrow.

They've found one mistake - 2,600 votes on a memory stick that they'd missed , mostly for Trump. Bit embarrassing, but it only alters the margin by about 1,000. So we can expect Biden to win by around 13,000.

They're aiming to have it done for tomorrow in order to send their result in on Friday. Given that they used the 'disputed' counting machines in Georgia, that ought to take much of the remaining breeze out of the sails of delusion.

So, this is basically the memory stick of 1969. Should have took us into fucking extra time./recount/supreme court/flipped state/electoral college...

hello and here is the latest update on the 'disputed counting machines' which are responsible for trump losing the election, this is from the person who invented the idea.
She is absolutely and completely barking mad.

If you were to click on the link in her tweet it would take you to this website, this is where she is telling the world about how she's going to overturn the results.

There's no writing, just a video of her talking to man on fox tv, she talks about communists, and how these machines come from cuba and china and venezuala and how in venezuela they stole all the votes by turning the internet off. and.. thats it. Thats the case, thats the firehose of evidence for today.
