US election 2020 thread

TV is probably the thing that he cares about most in the world, and it's the thing that made him (no way he'd have got to be president without the apprentice). I think there's a good chance he'll try that, either his own network -if anyone is still willing to lend him money - or at least his own show. Very optimistic that a failure there, TERRIBLE RATINGS, will hurt more than a lack of votes.

Yep there are 'insiders' who say he's going to set one up to destroy Fox News.

From what I see, Fox's viewers were pretty much exclusively right wing. It was set up specifically for that.

If they alienate their viewers by telling the truth, who'll watch them?

Are guests of Rikers Island permitted to broadcast?

I think 99% of the content will probably be provided by other ranting idiots of assorted levels of sanity, while underpaid interns plucked from community colleges in Alabama keep the thing running - if Trump can get just 2 or 3% of the people who voted for him to cough up a $5.99 a month subscription for the Trump News Network or MAGA News or whatever stupid name he gives it, he'll make so much money that people will speculate it was the whole reason he became president in the first place.

Republican Senators have started saying that if Biden doesn't start getting security briefings then they'll step in. Seem to be careful about how they're saying this, he needs to start being briefed in case of all election outcomes etc rather than because he won

I don't know if this has made it upthread or not... Remember that these are the people who are complaining about a rigged election!

A Miami-Dade newspaper claims that in several Florida Senate races, supposedly-independent candidates with the same last name as the Democratic candidate were on the ballot. According to the newspaper, all three that the candidates formerly were registered as Republicans, and that none of them actually ran any sort of campaign to, and that their candidacy was funded by a PAC that didn't have any other expenditures.

One of the allegedly-independent candidates also filed with a falisifed address. In this particular race, the Republican candidate leads the Democratic candidate by 37 votes; the supposedly-independent candidate with the same last name as the Democratic candidate received 6300 votes.
