US election 2020 thread

There's this for a start but I havent seen it in many other places. No idea how reliable it is, never heard of the site before

I suspect there are going to be a lot of rumours around in the next couple of months. Bernie Sanders for the Department of Labor is another one I've seen mooted.

Lots of wishful thinking on all sides, no doubt.

Yeah the dick cheney thing just came from a viral tweet, theres nothing official behind it afaik

For what it's worth, you can't be in the cabinet while being a senator, which would rule out Romney and Sanders unless they were happy to resign their positions in the Senate.
It would also mean the Republican governor of Vermont would be appointing someone to finish Bernie's term which seems... unwise

Has to be from a shortlist of three submitted by the local Democrat party I think, but yeah, gives a fair amount of power to the governor.

Don't think it would be to finish his term, but as an interim pending an election.

You know who else is still alive and angling for a top spot in the new administration according to an irrelevant clickbait-seeking provincial newspaper that doesn't exist?

That's right.

The big one.

The conductor.

Henry Kissinger.

He must be nearly 100!
He used to watch football at Grimsby with Tony Crosland.

Ive seen the Dick Cheney stuff repeated as fact by 'dirtbag left' type people. However I'm sure he is capable of finding someone equally bad who nobody's ever heard of

Mind you, looking at Cheney's wikipedia, it says he's 'one of the most unpopular politicians in the history of the US, holding an approval rating of just 13% at the time of leaving office.' - maybe there's something in it, that's the kind of record that could really swing it with the dems.
