i didn't realize how heavily all this was weighing on me. for the past three weeks or so i've had evidence of ulcerous activity which i put down to work stress, and that's a plausible explanation, but i now think four years of having trump in the atmosphere and the uncertainty of the election in particular added to that.

Yeah, feel like a career in the media is the most obvious path for him; the only thing that might bring him back is he lost this and he wants to prove people wrong, somehow, but we all know he didn't want to be president and the only bits he liked was the adulation. While this is true, what he has left are executive orders and 10 weeks to implement them - with two weeks of that over Xmas with no one doing any work. He can do damage, but little that couldn't be undone with other executive orders and some time.

Also worth noting that the WH staffers are already legging it - there will literally be empty offices and unanswered phones. He can make Great Declarations, but they will be ineffective and full of holes because no one has done the policy and staff work on them.

I'd prefer it if he was being bundled into a taxi with his crap in black plastic sacks as we speak, but lame duck doesn't really cover his powerlessness till 20th January.
