US election 2020 thread

The next time the Republicans are going to get someone like Trump but who actually knows what they are doing and who shows a degree of competence in fucking everything up. Just because Trump may be on the way out, that country is far from fixed. Politically it will only get worse.

Also; so long as the drive to harsher and harsher neo-liberalism is pushed by whichever Biden/Clinton/Starmer suit manages to scramble in, the more the material conditions driving a new Trump are fostered. Obama's utter capitulation to Wall St over the 2008 bankers crash was as important as anything in getting Trump elected in the first place.

4 years of Biden ain't going to fix anything for pissed off voters.

Trump declaring victory in PA with a million votes to count is both desperate and embarrassing. And at this stage completely unsurprising.

Donald Trump’s reelection campaign is falsely declaring victory in the key swing state of Pennsylvania, which remains too close to call.

Trump campaign manager Bill Stepien said on a press call, “We are declaring a victory in Pennsylvania.”

The president’s son echoed that message in a tweet:

Also Biden will be 108 by the time of the next election.

Getting tense in Detroit where a crowd of unofficial 'poll watchers' have turned up at the Wayne County count and have pushed their way in. Now too many people there so many locked out and unhappy and some official poll watchers can't get in.

When are they going to finish in Pennsylvania?
Tomorrow I think. I know the Dems were saying they expected Philly's mail vote to be dropped tonight or tomorrow so guessing it's not gonna be super quick

That's... not good?

Only MI counties still counting are Wayne, Genesee (Flint), Kent (Grand Rapids) and for some reason Antrim which is showing zero votes which I assume must be a data error

Trump margin in PA now below 6 points (350k).

Just gonna quote verbatim from the 538 blog

We just got about 15,000 more votes from Allegheny County, Pa. (home of Pittsburgh), with four-fifths of that going to Biden. Biden leads the county 56 percent to 42 percent (with 79 percent of the expected vote in), a margin similar to Clinton’s margin over Trump in the county in 2016. Trump’s statewide lead is down to about 6.5 points, with 82 percent of the estimated vote in.
And just as I wrote that, two more batches of Pennsylvania vote were reported: 23,277 votes in Philadelphia, all for Biden, and about 5,300 votes in Luzerne County, nearly 4,000 of which were for Biden. Trump’s lead in the state is now just below 6 points, with 83 percent of the expected vote in.

Which gives you an idea of just how heavy these votes are for Joe Biden

280-odd thousand Michigan votes left in play, Biden up by 60,000+

Means trump needs over 60% of the remaining votes.

hmm whilst its not hard to sound more like a president than trump

thats not a bad reaction to Trumps bullshit
