US election 2020 thread

Clearly, they need to split the country.

The Democratic United States of America (DUSA) can go one way, and the Republican United States of Independent America (RUSIA) can go with Trump to wherever Trump should go.

:hmm:
They've tried that before in the 19th century when they had the United States of America and the Confederate States of America, didn't work out too well in the end

Guardian map is well a bit Graun, so don't totally trust its numbers. It has Berrien County at 4.76% reporting, but I checked its population. It's close to 100% now. No late Trumpist shock from there.

theres nowhere to draw the line
the split is marginally urban v country, even in places like california (though a lot less so than some other states)
though a 60/40 split in an area is still pretty even considering

(ETA: point already made by Crispy i see belatedly)

I'd go as far as saying trump can't win Michigan now. He's also running out of uncounted votes in WI. All about Nevada then? I just don't know what the uncounted are there, postal ballots mainly? Edit: I think Yoda wrote that last sentence.

Graun says 238, CNN, Beeb and Sky all say 224.

I'm sure this was covered somewhere but why are they so out of sync?

This whole shebang is making me feel sad and tired. From talking to some Americans, it’s not down to simple political differences or disputes over facts. They are living in a completely separate reality where any real conversations are impossible.

However things pan out, this seems likely to continue.
