US election 2020 thread

Wilf those Decision Desk tweets are quite old now
I didn't put it very well, but that's what I was getting at. Earlier on they were ahead of the guardian and now they are behind. Anyway, from my mouse hovering Wayne County looks to be big enough, has enough votes left to count and is running 2:1 for Biden. So that's where the Dems hopes hang, assuming WI and Nevada stay on board.

edit: as said by lbj.

Yeah it will, but he has given legitimacy and power to some of the worst aspects of American society. It is going to take a lot of undoing. Anyone’s guess how the next decade will play out.
Clearly, they need to split the country.

The Democratic United States of America (DUSA) can go one way, and the Republican United States of Independent America (RUSIA) can go with Trump to wherever Trump should go.

:hmm:

God almighty. Up till 3, tired and hungover this morning, back-to-back meetings, loads of work to do and keep checking on here to see what's happening. WHEN WILL THIS BE OVER????

(Rhetorical question, I know we've potentially days of this to go... :(

Wayne County (Grand Rapids) I think.
Yeah, that's the one that does it for Michigan, just as Nevada hangs on Las Vegas/Clark County (biggest population, leaning Biden, but surrounded by smaller trump counties).

Can we build a wall round RUSIA? And maybe a dome over it, seeing as no-one there seems to care about climate change or noxious gasses?

I thought the virus would be significant, but it looks not - I was talking to a trump-leaning guy in the office just now and he was saying 'before the virus' trumps economic results had been great, and he reckoned he would have voted for him on his record. For him covid was brushed aside, and I guess that's the same for most republican supporters.

I think there's probably a feeling that most countries have fucked it with Covid and whoever was in charge they'd probably have been a similar position. Or - like every tory I've seen saying 'yeah it might be bad, but imagine how bad it would have been with Corbyn??', the assumption is that he's done better than the other guys would have anyway.
