The Tories just sold access to the entire NHS medical database to Palantir. Which means, if you're in the UK, your medical records are about to be used by the creepiest US data company around. It is something you can opt out of here.

I was going to do it a year or so ago but the twats seemed to pull back from it.

Eta: looks like this opt out won't actually work to stop data going to Palantir , apparently there's a court case pending.

The main thing that comes across is that they are massively shit. Corrupt, yes, but with a stunning lack of any ideas. The testimony in the Covid enquiry for instance, or the regular leaks about bullying and toxic culture. They've just sailed through from their school days and every door has opened for them.

I mean the absolute state of some of them. It's beyond embarrassing, yet they are too shallow to be ashamed even for a moment, so self-assured they are of their own greatness.

Starmer is right to deflect their arrows, because their worst enemy is themselves. When it comes down to it everyone is living in a state in decay. They don't realise that they are going to wind up with a pitchfork up the hole. They don't really care or see what the consequences of their policies are.

They are living in a world of make believe. I just hope Labour can at least weed out the corrupt ethos/culture. I don't expect them to rubber-stamp every shoddy deal cos mate's cousin. They will be less corrupt, but will still have factions espousing Libertarianism as orthodoxy. They won't talk down struggling communities as 'shitholes' in parliament, they will fuck up peoples lives by in effect being slightly 'lite' Tories. They couldn't do much else even if they wanted to, and most don't and won't, and an unknown factor is who is coming in too if they gain lots of seats. But at the end of the day, never go full Tory.

New Home Secretary, during PMQ's Alex Cunningham (MP for Stockton North ) asked the PM why 34% of children in his constituency live in poverty, before the PM can answer Cleverley can be heard saying, "because it's a shithole."

The farce continues.

They clearly realised they had to confess to something and apologise, but because calling a place a shithole is political doom, they've tried to claim that they said 'because you're a shit MP' instead!

Let's not forget what question prompted Cleverley's reply:

"Why do 37% of the children in my constituency live in poverty?"

His, 'cos it's a shithole' reply just shows the utter contempt of a man born in London, privately educated and all the usual tory MP shit has for the poor; he think it's lols to point out that the 37% of kids in poverty somehow deserve to be in poverty cos of where they were born. A disgusting point of view from anyone, but this cunt's the fucking Home Secretary, tasked with looking after shit inside our country, and-he-thinks-that

And "because you're shit" would seem like a peculiar muttered response to that question.

So, not only has he taken the electorate for fools by thinking he can get away with slagging off a town undoubtedly made more shit by his own government's policies, he's now insulting our intelligence even further by thinking he's going to get away with pretending he didn't say it.

In any other situation, this would be time for an abject apology, maybe even a resignation. But this lot are institutionally contemptuous towards anyone who isn't them, so I shan't be holding my breath.

Can't believe Cleverly said that. Has he just realised he's been landed in a shit job and wants out already?

I like the idea of scrapping the RAF though. Doesn’t really matter whether it becomes a division of the army or the fleet air arm, as long as the number of top-ranking officers demanding capital investment for their particular service is reduced. And it would make sense for air defence to be as joined up as possible, although darwinian competition would be a silly way to try and achieve that.

Fortunately, it hasn’t mattered what the IEA say about anything since September 2022.
