It always felt that England would have innings where they'd collapse, but the rest of the test/series would be 'normal' - wouldn't necessarily win, but pit up something approaching a performance.
Right now you just go into every day (or at least go to bed) knowing exactly how it's going to pan out.
I know that there are mitigating circumstances, and the nature of playing on the otherside of the world naturally give the Australians an upper hand, but the whole series seems like at the end of each innings (cos they've all largely been terrible) the coaching staff go into a room with Root, decide what went wrong, and then go put next time to do the exact something again.
Because I'm a Liverpool fan it kind of reminds me of the end of the Rodgers era, when we were meant to be playing this exciting, attacking football, with energetic creative players. But instead of Suarez and Sturridge, it was Apas and Lambert.
