The American mass shooting thread

Any sane country at this stage would do something about availability of guns. But these people witter on a out arming teachers 🤔.
You don't get terrorists in America nobody would notice amongst the low level constant carnage 🤬

 He did a sketch in the Day Today in which a pastor shows the bullet proof Perspex screen behind which he gives his sermons (with a hole in it to return fire). I’m not trying to cheapen the issue. There’s talk of arming teachers these days.

Bit odd to reference something from 30 years ago, though.

too close:

The ammosexuals will see this as a great success as an armed bystander killed him.
Sod the tree who were killed and the inadequate would have been turned away in the uk from an air rifle club.
Let alone have access to a real gun.

Sorry my comment was meant for the post above, but it was 3.35am, post Chucklehead!

Mass shooting last night less than a mile from me. Luckily, no one is dead. The intersection they mention is probably the poorest part of the city and known as "T-town." Things did seem a little unsettled last night.

Lincoln Police are investigating an overnight shooting that injured four people.

The incident happened around 12:30 a.m. at a home on T Street between 28th and 29th. Lincoln Police say they received multiple reports of gunshots from the area, and when officers arrived, they found evidence that a shooting had occurred and that people were injured.

LPD says, as a perimeter was being established, they were called to a Lincoln hospital after four people arrived with gunshot wounds.

Police say the three adults and one teen are currently being treated for their injuries, and are in stable condition.

Because this is flyover country and people have become used to news of mass shootings, I doubt if it will make more than the local news.

Can you copy and paste it? Seems to be geo fenced.
"Police have released body cam footage from an incident at a Utah McDonald’s where a 4-year-old shot at officers back in February.

The 12-minute video shows the moments leading up to the arrest of 27-year-old Sadaat Johnson as well as what took place after one of his children shot at police at the drive-thru.

Unified Police Department initially responded to the McDonald in Midvale on Feb. 21 around 1:30 p.m. when employees reported that a man brandished a gun in the drive-thru after his order was incorrect.

Employees asked Johnson to pull to the front of the restaurant after reporting the incident to the police.

Johnson had two children in the car at the time, a 4-year-old and a 3-year-old.

Officers ordered Johnson to get out of the car several times, but he refused, the video shows. Police then opened Johnson’s front driver’s door, pulling him out.

As officers were trying to take Johnson into custody, an officer who turned around saw a gun pointing out of the back window and screamed “gun,” moments before a shot rings out.

The officer used his hand to sweep the gun away as the gun went off, hitting the upper part of the McDonald’s building. The officer then yelled at the person inside of the car to drop the gun, and after looking inside the car, realized that it was a small child.

The children can be heard crying after the incident as officers ushered them out of the car and away from the scene.

Johnson was later charged in early March with child abuse, aggravated assault, and interference with an arresting officer.

The 4-year-old told police that he picked up the gun because “he wanted his daddy back,” charging records show. The child also told police that Johnson said, “the police officer cannot open the door,” during the altercation.

After being arrested, Johnson told police that he “blacked out” for 30 seconds after he and the McDonald’s employee were arguing over his order. Johnson also denied brandishing the gun in front of the worker, despite surveillance video showing him doing so, court records state.

Johnson also told police that this wasn’t the first time his 4-year-old child had gotten his hands on a gun."

What a truly fucked up family.

Yeah, that ought to fix it.

I can’t believe she was still singing that. Sheesh.

I don’t think any of the lyrics really registered in my brain. I certainly never linked it to guns in my head except very distantly metaphorically.

If she’s no longer comfortable with it and also wants to make a point while doing so, I have no beef with that. I don’t think anyone expects it to fix anything by itself.

Makes me wonder whether she’s a musician that gun owners like. That sort of thing can have a little bit of traction.

Joey George, 37, is charged with making interstate threats and is scheduled to appear in court Friday afternoon, The Seattle Times reported.

George phoned a Buffalo grocery store twice in July threatening to shoot Black people in the store and ranting about a “race war,” the complaint said.

On May 14, a shooter killed 10 Black people and hurt several others at Tops Friendly Supermarket in Buffalo.
A 19-year-old white man with ties to white supremacy has pleaded not guilty to federal hate crime charges.
