People seem to feel that they are entitled to stuff, and if denied, they have the right to justice.

FLORENCE, S.C. (AP) — An 8-year-old boy visiting South Carolina from New Hampshire was shot and killed by a man randomly firing a gun at passing cars from woods near his house, authorities said.

He came to shoot his surgeon

The suspect died of self-inflicted gunshot wounds.
He had purchased a semi-automatic AR15-style rifle just hours before the shooting, and was also armed with a handgun, police said.
Tulsa police chief Wendell Franklin said the man "blamed Dr Phillips for ongoing pain" following the surgery he received at St Francis Hospital on 19 May.
After his release from hospital, the suspect "called several times over several days complaining of pain and wanting additional treatment", Mr Franklin said. It is unclear if he received further assistance.
He added that a letter recovered from the crime scene made it clear the suspect "came in with the intent to kill Dr Phillips and anyone who got in his way".

I'm in no way condoning shooting doctors, but I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often. With how frustrating and expensive medical care is in the US, and the way that many people respond to frustration, I would expect more of this than there is.

Bit of a wrong target though, isn't it? It's the offices of medical insurance executives that they "should" be shooting up. Although in this instance it seems the murderer thought their surgeon fucked up.
