Instead of arming the teachers, why not lock the school doors?
Every elementary school around here lock all the doors. If you want in, you have to use the door bell or buzzer.

Something came up on my YouTube feed the other day where someone apparently DEMOLISHES the argument that gun control would have any effect on this sort of thing.
Apparently a lot of “studies show…” etc going on.
Why the fuck do they think there are a whole bunch of countries that don’t have this shit happening all the time??
Then again, as has been pointed out by many, there are countries where you can walk into many a regular shop and buy guns and ammo and they don’t have these kinds of shootings.
There’s a little irrational part of me, unschooled in advanced statistics, that thinks that it might help A BIT if you at least had a bit of good old runaround bureaucratic hassle before you could buy the kind of ordnance usually associated with a military coup, though.

I agree. I’ve never been to Canada and what I imagine it’s like is almost certainly very inaccurate, but one of those things is nice!
And verdant. With very big trees and strange animals and bands that make lilting alt-rock that makes fishing less boring.

As a parent myself I cannot imagine the pain these families must be going through. If my little boy got taken like this I truly believe I'd go the same way. I'm so sorry for them.

It is a daily occurrence and they seem to be content with it, or they would do something.

The people who read the news are usually pretty jaded, but I saw a couple of them break a little today. A couple of stations have interviewed Sandy Hook and Parkland parents. The frustration is overwhelming:

Sadly, I'm already seeing accusations that this is a fake. I'm afraid that these parents will be subjected to the same harassment that the Sandy Hook families have endured. Sick.

The US are about to change their main rifle / weapon from the lower power AR platform to a much more powerful upgrade (M5). These, in a semi automatic version, are already available for sale to the general public. They are capable of shooting through body armour and have a greater range over the AR

real life examples of countrie were pretty stringent gun control has been inacted and oddly the number of events

Australia after port Albert and the UK after dunblane, of course the gun lobby in the states will scream and extermly small
numbers of gun related deaths one or 2 events over decades in both countries as examples of gun control not working
