The 2024 UK General Election - news, speculation and updates

Pissed off about Hunt, that's my parents' constituency - close result but they're going to be really fucked off.
I think a lot of people who aren't tory don't vote round there (my non tory parents will have voted! Probably tactically however), because it seems like a foregone conclusion, so such a close result is especially galling.

Good news for Sinn Fein

From Belfast Telegraph

Fermanagh and South Tyrone: Sinn Fein hold with increased majority

The constituency's long run without a significant majority is over. Pat Cullen has taken the seat with a vote of 24,844, 4,571 votes clear of the UUP's Diana Armstrong. The constituency had not had a majority in four figures since before the 2010 General Election.

From the results I’ve skimmed it looks like tactical voting hasn’t done too well, too many places with a sizeable Lib Dem vote that would easily have put Labour over the line. Fuck their bar chart skullduggery.
