The pile on came after dubious posting behaviour, not before. He arrived, got straight into the newest Terf war thread, then tried to get people to say they were in favour of direct action and civil disobedience.

At the moment, you may be aware of protests under the aegis of “kill the bill”. Meaning “put a stop to the legislation which will criminalise protest and the gypsy Roma traveller lifestyle”. Cop chiefs are trying to spin that as meaning “kill police officers” as in “kill the Old Bill” (as if anyone says that), in order to turn public sympathy against the protests.

In a well publicised incident, they were filmed and photographed rearranging a banner that said “kill the spy cops Bill” to say “kill cops”.

This comically poorly informed joker turns up on here trying to get people to say they are in favour of public disorder.

He is getting short shrift.

I hadn't seen that thread, but his behaviour on the vaccine thread was way out of order, quoting a post from Sugar Kane that she had asked not to be quoted, and ignoring polite requests from a number of us for him to edit it out, instead digging himself into a ever deeper hole.

But, on this thread, I think most were just taking the piss out of him for insisting that anyone that posted even a slightly abusive reply would be put on ignore, that's hardly in the spirit of urban.

According to the modelling, if every poster did that, it would result in over a 50% reduction in posts across the boards, and up to 90% in the politics forum.

Absolutely normative for any closed defensive group, on or off line. A newcomer who disturbs the equilibrium becomes seen as a threat from outside and those with low ego integrity need to reinforce their membership of the group by attacking the perceived threat to demonstrate their social ownership. It is rather amusing to see Group Theory exhibited so well. Even apes and chimpanzees do it the same way.

And independence is rarely , if ever, an economic argument , in this scenario , the only country that would have an economic argument for independence is England.
