Where, uh, did I say that?
You didn't say the exact words but this is clearly the argument you're very transparently making. Do fire away with your denials though.
Where, uh, did I say that?
You answered my question about racist brits with a question about russian pogrom victims. Let's try to focus.
not as vocally as you've condemned the people who got beaten up / killed from what I've seen of this thread.Well I'd suggest that you do read the thread as I haven't once posted in defence of the Israeli action and have strongly condemned it several times.
He was banned.
No shit sherlock
Six thirty here..... lets do the math..............add seven............means...............it's the Silly Hour there.
Bye.
There used to be an actual live Israeli who posted here named Rachamim, but he was eventually hounded out the door.

It must be tough for you, wanting to be anti zionist, but trying to downplay the antisemitism of Israel's foes in the middle east.
I'm pointing out that those who do the bombing and send the bombers are very specific about their hatred of jews and their desire to see them perish in fire.
So it looks to me that those Jews dying in a Tel Aviv market, are being killed because they are Jews.
Why do all those hate speeches keep mentioning jews?
I think they keep mentioning jews because..... they hate jews.
If they hate you and kill you out of ignorance, is that better than if they hate you and kill you from a more enlightened anti semitism?
I'm saying that anti semitism is anti semitism.
So it's just confusion that gets them strapping on suicide belts?
So if one of those confused palestinians equates jews with israel, and decides to put on a bomb belt, the jews who die as a result weren't killed because they were jews, because the palestinian's jew-hatred was actually misplaced?
Frogwoman said that some palestinians might hate jews, but it's a mistake because they should be hating Israel, but nonetheless, they are now hating jews until someone sets them straight.
But.... they hate jews, even though they should hate israel, but the reason they strap on the belt isn't because they hate jews?
this forum is definitely poorer without him IMO, as it now has pretty much no input at all from anyone who actually knows how the IDF operate and think from their own experience.I disagreed with pretty much all of his posts, but he polite, intelligent and made the place interesting. He was certainly "hounded" but he was far smarter than many of his detractors so it was water off a duck's back.
Bit of a cunt though, but this place is full of cunts.
The Middle East forum just went back to being a circle-jerk when he was banned.

You've happily posted up the lines the Israelis and their apologists are pushing such as the martyrdom line ...

I'd prefer to have him coming to Israel's defence than JC1 2 or 3 any day of the week, because at least he knew what he was talking about.
he wasn't exactly a zionist autobot either, as he posted several threads that were critical of the israeli government's position on some issues, mostly actually issues that I'd only vaguely heard about previously. I never did really get why he was banned.
I've just been back through your posts and was about to apologise, but after seeing your edit you can get a fuck right off instead.Don't be daft. I've condemned the Israeli action, the regime, the blockade, and supported the flotilla. All on this thread.
But everyone's doing that, so you choose to ignore it and base your arguments on what I've posted against the grain; my questioning of the defence tactics on the Marmara, and I'm forced into bolstering my opinion.
Wrong again. Someone else mentioned Kelvin McKenzie's appalling display on QT tonight. I asked if anyone had seen any corroboration of what he was saying (the martydom line), specifically acknowledging that I had tried and been unable to find anything that supported him.
You then picked-up and ran with the 'martyrs and terrorists' thing!
I fully expect blatant misrepresentation from the likes of Free Spirit and his pals, that's what they do when they don't like what you're saying.
But I'd have thought that you would be able to see through that.
Now, now; more disingenuity. Firstly, you have already heard me give two examples where colonisers have behaved as badly. Secondly, it is not the precursors to the current Israeli state who are in question here; it is the current batch. The behavior of this group of refugees [precursors to the modern Israelis] has been worse than if it had been some other group of refugees?
Johnny, please read some history books. Even bad ones. But at least read something. So there weren't a bunch of jewish emigrees from postwar Europe?
Best he doesn't confuse his knuckle-headed self. He exists to bang home the message that anyone who criticises Israel is anti-jewJohnny, please read some history books. Even bad ones. But at least read something.
Question Time last night! I was watching Kelvin Mackenzie's vituperative rant with a wtf! reaction ... till I remembered who he was I wish Dimbleby had seen fit to remind the audience that this was the guy responsible for the Sun's reporting of the Hillsborough disaster "I was not sorry then, and I'm not sorry now". Accurate reporting is not his strong point - to put it mildly. He's fucking vile and his performance last night was entirely consistent with the right wing, jingoistic, hyberbolic, hysterical, tabloid "TRUTH" that he spouts.
*deep breath* anyway ... to pick up on his hysteria about 'martyrs'. When I heard him going on about that, I was a bit 'eh?' for a minute, then I remembered something that Tangentlama had posted a few pages back. How 'shahid' is interchangeable with 'witness' and 'martyr' (and iirc, TAE I think, also said that similarly the Greek word for witness also means martyr). The posts are here: http://www.urban75.net/vbulletin/search.php?searchid=15708109
So it appears that one of the activists said they were going on the aid envoy to witness the delivery of the aid, and that the word 'witness' has been seized upon and used in its alternative meaning of 'martyr'. Well he/they may indeed have thought it was likely that they'd be martyrs too, if they truly anticipated that they'd be killed in the process ... who's to say? But it seems likely that this is where the, erm, confusion, has arisen.
On a sidenote, why was Diane Abbott banging on about 6 fatalities; when 9 bodies were delivered back to Turkey yesterday, and it's still unclear about the final death toll?
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/jun/03/gaza-flotilla-attack-turkey-funeralBut the account of Andre Abu Khalil, a cameraman for Al Jazeera TV, described how activists seized four Israelis before other commandos stormed aboard, firing on activists. "There were four Israeli soldiers brought to the lowest deck. They had fracture wounds," the Lebanese told Reuters. The soldiers were captured during attempts to descend on to the ship from helicopters.
On Monday, an Israeli commando said he was struck with metal bars while other troops were held down and stripped of their helmets and equipment. "Twenty Turkish men formed a human shield to prevent the Israeli soldiers from scaling the ship, said Abu Khalil. "They had slingshots, water pipes and sticks. They were banging the pipes on the side of the ship to warn the Israelis not to get closer." The standoff lasted 10 minutes until the Israelis opened fire.
