Israeli forces storm Gaza aid ship, and beat people on board. Fatalities reported.

It's bizarre the kind of desperate pseudo-logic that you get when Israel commits one of it's atrocities.

In this case the argument seems to centre around the idea that when State actors do something then all moral and legal conventions become qualitatively different somehow. So any right to self defence becomes a duty of surrender when confronted by agents of a State, and the responsibility for the consequences of an act of aggression are somehow transferred to the victims.
They were probably asking for it.

So there goes our hopes that Obama was going to be any different then

What is it about US Presidents and Israel? Do you think they take the new President behind an curtain when he becomes Pres and tell him they will rape his wife and kill his children if he doesn't do as he's told?

Or maybe they open a suitcase and bright orange glow appears and the President looks and says "oh"

Erm ... getting a bit carried away ...

You'd think they'd have taken into consideration, knowledge of how the IDF acts, when first deciding about sailing in spite of the warnings.

You know what. I just don't believe a word you type. It's all just pathetic squirming and wriggling by someone who doesn't have the balls to say what the Zionists are saying.

That you unconditionally support Israel and you will never condemn them whatever they do.

For me, the case for self defence here expires when anyone who doesn't take the opportunity to put their hands up and end the violence, doesn't.

In this case it's when armed commandos boots hit the deck of your ship.
Oh right...for you, this is gold, the right to self defence is lost if you don't surrender. Can't beat that.

It was a direct response to a direct question.
No...it was more,,,evasive nonsense...to distract from serious discussion on a subject that is incredibly important to many urbanites, I'm one of them. Wordplay, misplaced humour.

If an aid flotilla sailed toward Inchon in the face of repeated warnings from the North Koreans not to do it or face the consequences, I would ponder the motivations of the flotilla in proceeding, just as I am here.
Perhaps to get aid to people in dire need; people who, according to Amnesty, are getting 25% of the bare minimum needed.

In what way is telling someone that you're going to go mental in a second a cover to what shit you get up to when you go mental

You, spymaster, make me, as a human, sick. I pity you.

They were given the option of landing the aid at a designated port, to have it forwarded.

You'll call bullshit on that, but doing it the way they did it, there was exactly zero chance that any aid would get through.

No I mean. We all hoped that Obama would have a little bit more of a critical approach to Israel than Bush, just a tiny little bit.

The Israelis expected it. But what do we get. The same unconditional support that they have always given

Do you know how many UN resolutions condemning Israel the US have ever supported? 0

They have used their veto since Israel's birth to stop each and every resolutution criticises Israel.
So what is it? Everyone knows Netanyahuh is a rabid dog. Everyone knows what Israel has done. So why doesn't he just fucking tell them to pack it in.

Pack it in, end the blockade, end settlements or we are cutting off all the fucking money.
He could do that but he won't. Hence the suitcase with the orange glow

It's so incredibly important to you that you will set aside time to make many internet posts about this serious matter.

Like the civil rights movement and the Klu Klux Klan. Same rules apply.

Exactly the same. When blacks marched in Birmingham, they knew what would happen. When the Students Strike occured, they knew what would happen. They did it because of their belief in their cause, and they were ready to face injury and death in order to achieve it. And many were injured, and some died.

You know very well that various vital supplies - such as construction materials - aren't getting through that way.

Actually they did support 242, though they probably wouldnt have if they realised that the Israelis had no intention of leaving the occupied territories.

I don't know who 'the usual crowd' are, because I don't often post in World Politics. But my impression is that the thread has been remarkably restrained given the subject matter, and has got some useful information/links/videos.

Spymaster admitted not reading the thread, didn't stop him coming out with his shit - is there any reason to give him or JC3 any more attention they are craving?

Would you have made excuses for the attackers then?

Ah, we're getting somewhere.

So do you equally think they were stupid and to blame for their injuries for doing so?
