Lowry isn't convicted, yet.

And SF keep telling us the IRA Have gone away, so why would they care about a tax evader going down

Because they're telling lies, you fucking dumbass

Along with the entire political and security establishment who's deals depend on the maintenance of that lie.

Jesus its like talking to a particularly slow witted brick.

Ah so basically you're saying SF are lying duplicitous fuckers with ties to terrorists and gangsters but it's not fair the state sent down one of their leaders for tax fraud on Election Day?

Shopping list of demands? So what? How is that different from what Tony Gregory did?
But you clearly do not understand, Idris2002. Political gombeenism simply must be done with a certain cosmopolitan flair, a little urban panache, a sprinkling of stylish derring-do. Us urban sophisticates cannot bear the sight of a flat-capped Oiks about the place.

That you fail to understand this is excused somewhat by your background - what with you being a Culchie and all (An intellectual one, admittedly, but a Culchie nonetheless).

When not sending others down for the same, yes. I'd include Bertie ahern in that .

I think 8dens circles prefer the term " bogger " . Or in our case " dreadful bogger nordies..who probably don't even WATCH rugger ...oi mean soeriously loike"

I'd not be a fan of Gregory's deal either. It's naked bribery of a single td and constituency at the expense of the rest of the nation. Parish Pump politics at its worst.

Kindly don't put words into my mouth. You're the one who dismisses anywhere who doesn't agree with your brand of republicanism as a west Brit.

Not everyone sees the world through your lens of reducing everyone to myopic 1 dimensional caricatures..

Yeah well, I remember how the Metrovincials hated Knock airport, but were all happy to have their precious DART laid on for them.

Gregory was one of the few genuine political heroes the Free State ever produced. And his deal with Haughey was one of the best things he did.

Political Gobbenism be it OReilly's medical centres or Healy Raes motorway is the bane of Irish politics

If only Tony Gregory had put the 'national interest' first, had bent to the will of the huge financial institutions based in his city-center constituency... instead he chose so selfishly to put the interests of the impoverished, marginalised, abused and ignored citizens of Dublin's inner-city who elected him front and foremost. What a cunt, eh?

For his locale it was excellent. For the rest of the country it meant another Fianna Fáil Haughey administration

Ok yah. Oi can..loike..sort of ...get your gist there old chap. Even though it's loike...all mixed up and shoite . And obviously tapped out when you were having a freaking tantrum .

Loike..you should have said anyone and not anywhere . And loike surely I'd be the myopic one and not the other chaps. My lens being wonky and so forth .

But yah. I've caught the old drift .

Did he know it was going to fall apart within the year when he made the deal?

Did he give a fuck?

Should he have given a fuck?

He got things done ... for a community that has been shafted by every administration since the free state came into being.

Sudden mental image of Tony Gregory surrounded by a gang of anthropomorphic cartoon cats, who address him as "TG".

Who fucking cares? TG was elected to fight for his people and that's what he did.

I personally think tds should be cthere to work on national issues and national politics rather than local ones that what county councils are supposed to do.

Burton back in by the skin of her teeth on the 6th count . Fianna Fail double their seats , taking 5 in Dublin compared to their previous zero . Brendan Howlin tops poll in Wexford. Fuck that . Idiots .

West Brit Shatter is out though. Looks like wolfman Reilly is out too .

1/3 of all Irish Rail journeys are on the DART are you really comparing that to airport on a bog 50 miles away from the nearest city?
