Glastonbury 2019

Just a reminder, balances need to be paid this week.

£8.95 'transaction fee' (when there's already a £5 booking fee per ticket) and £45 for a car parking ticket left a nasty taste in my mouth though.

I get they're trying to encourage people to use the public transport, but that's a hefty price gouge when not everyone has the option of trains and buses.

They could try putting on free buses from all the major surrounding towns instead of forcing everyone to mish it out to Castle fucking Cary

Im still hoping to work it this year!! Not been since 2011 but would love to.

Just for a bit of timewasting light nostalgia :D, check out Urban's Glastonbury 2017 thread, when you've a moment :)

I was checking that thread partly to search for this site -- The Thingy has been posting updates for full/detailed lineups for particular stages/areas for years

ETA : Including smaller/more obscure performance places, also :)

Given that a few basic updates for 2019 have already been posted, I'm confident they'll be posting more of the same in the pre-festival buildup period this year too )

Useful stuff for detail-seekers :D

There is an official coach package available from Newcastle (or there certainly used to be via See) but they only run one coach to and from the Festival and it doesn't get to Pilton until about 7pm on the Wednesday evening.

Instead, we used to fly to Bristol from Newcastle and then get a shuttle bus from Bristol bus station to the Festival as this gave us the most flexilbility and it's a LOT cheaper than the train to Temple Meads. It was usually a bit hairy getting back to the airport on time on the Monday as I found the NX staff to be quite flaky AND the coach route went right past the airport without stopping which was more than a little frustrating!

Our good pal Andrew failed in October to get tickets for the first time. But he now has a job! Working with catering in Goose Hall to feed the recycling crews :)

He's delighted and doesn't at all mind that he'll be on tough seven hour shifts. He's more bothered, in a good way, about spending longer on site before and after the festival, like us** .... ;) :)

**Still subject to confirmation this  . But Deb checked her 2017 emails, and it was this particular week (first week of April) that we heard back then, apparantly ....

I don't know how many times I've seen The Beat (over 15 times?), but their Glade gig was immense, with wonderful freaky-acid visuals and to fit in with those, Steve Hillage guesting on guitar for the last song

Yep, this was a real highlight of the festival for me. They were on top form .
:(

It’s up by the Park

Yes, top of Pennards Hill Ground, next to the entrance from there to The Park. I forgot to check for that yesterday, but it's not where I'd have expected ... I was expecting it to be where Cinemageddon was in 2017.

Still, at the top of a big hill will be an excellent, prominent place for the great big full size seaside pier! :)

I missed that the line-up for The Common was released yesterday :

Lucky! :) Well done  .... I saw so many people online elsewhere who were frustrated :(

I can't verify which page, but according to efestivals, this resale (9 am onwards today) sold out in fourteen minutes ...

Was hoping to get some for mates in the resale, but no joy, I'm afraid. If anyone hears of one of the fabled 'secret resale', please pm me.
