Glastonbury 2019

As others have said , not a classic for me but still the very best place to be for 4 days in June .

Memorable for me were The Idles who proved that Rock n Roll is still alive with attitude , lead singer was visually emotional throughout a remarkably active set . The guitarist playing in his pants and clearly not giving a shit was a sight I will not forget in a while . Thank you Idles for bringing a tear to my eye .

Also a mention for Jade Bird who I am sure we will see more of . Really liked her happy innocent approach and was obviously very proud to be on stage , albeit to A pretty limited crowd .,

Billy Eilish was another I remember getting it spot on to a far bigger crowd

I have seen Hollie Cook on numerous occasions and thoroughly enjoyed them all , she has a growing fan base and West Holts was rocking for her even at the early set time .

Downsides ? Can’t think of any right now because it seems a bit picky to complain about the weather given what we have all had to endure previous years .

Thank you Glastonbury !

Just watched some catch-up

Janelle Monae was as epic and full of joy on the TV as irl.
Billie Eyelash wasn't at all what I was expecting but I liked it.
Dave seems like a personable chap.
The cure .. meh. :p
George Ezra is great.
Fatoumata Diawara has a spectacular voice (heard from the tent but nice to see her).

Managed to miss Hollie Cook so will watch that tomorrow.

Haven't found Grace Petrie online yet. Maybe they don't do acoustic on the TV.

And it occurred to me that i didn't see a single stag/hen party all weekend

They don't -- apparantly the bossman of Acoustic (Stuart?) insists on no BBC coverage of Acoustic at all, and has blocked the cameras from his tent for about ever

Right on.

I can undestand Stuart of Acoustic wanting to keep that tent a media-free zone, and in a lot of ways that's

But there've been some absolutely classic gigs up Acoustic Hill** over the years, and it's a shame not to be able to see footage of at least some of them (IMO) :(

**As it isn't called but surely should be :p

That tent has great magic in it. Magic that is there for the moment. It's so much more relaxed and enjoyable without the cameras and boom arms that plague the other stages. That's where I lollop. Lolloping is important.
The festival is for living. It's not a TV show. That's my perspective. I respect other ones .

Acoustic tent Joan Baez gig (not this year) had the best sound I've heard ever at a gig. It was loud but undistorted blocking out the noise from everywhere else perfectly. They deffo do something right up there.

I covered 4 festivals as a photographer in the past, with a full festival pass and this was always the case - i wasn't allowed in the pit. They had a couple of festival staff / friends doing it, but no one else. However for the few artists I needed to cover, they were high on the day schedule and it wasn't very busy, so I shot from the crowd.

I remember seeing Christie Hennessey at the accoustic stage many many years ago. He had a lovely voice.

6. This probably should be 1. in this list, but I lost my camera on Saturday night, because Hawkwind, because Glastonbury, because Pronghorn, because I'm a twat etc. -- and there were nearly 100 pictures on it already by then. I await word from Wagonshed Welfare with ever-decreasing optimism.

Above from my (non-music) negatives list in my Glastonbury original reviews, is now no longer a negative!!

I'd ages ago given up on my camera being found, but it somehow was!!  :) and posted back to me the weekend just gone. Shedloads of excellent pix :D ...... I have a (little-used  ) Flickr account and I may eventually get highlights available :) ... sometime after the main festival season, at least
