Glastonbury 2019

To anyone there, is the increase of BAME performers on the main stages changed the demographics? No digs meant. It is a very British white middle class tradition.

It sells out in about 7 seconds before the lineup is announced so I'm guessing no.

You can stick Johnny Marr playing with The Killers. Kieran Hebden just played with Hot Chip covering The Beastie's 'Sabotage'.:cool:

Am worn out dancing to The Chemical Brothers in my living room. Realised: need to dance more.

Brandon seems a good sort and a good sport: appears loving playing The Festival; always a tick in my box.

I-Player not responding to much else this evening. :(

Sister at The Festival reports that everyone is rushing for shaded areas. And she has swollen ankles because she is wearing silly plimsoll things and not the decent, stylish, ankle-supporting ankle-wellies I bought her for her birthday. She has gone off now to change her shoes..

It's also over £250 a ticket

I was interested in numbers, and found it was licenced for 220,000  this year, it was comfortable when it was only 25-30,000. :D

Anyway around 30% are for staff, performers, stall-holders, etc, so around 154,000 go on sale @ £253 each = £38,962,000 in ticket sales!

175000 public tickets I believe

Have had a nice day (sat) watched the sunrise at the stones, slept a few hours and then got a bit too bloody hot so crawled out of camp to the green craft field with the littlest W who played in a sandpit and then snoozed under a tree whilst we smoked and watched the world go by. Visited Glastonbury on Sea at sunset and then had a kip before work ... Which I'm just finishing. Watching the millions of people who are still milling around and pouring out of the SEC. Its gone cloudy so I'm hoping to sleep for a while in a bit.

I got those figures from the licence issued by Mendip council, but it did say an approx 70/30 split.

If 175k were sold, it takes the figure to over £44m.
I think it costs about 25 million to put on. Then 3 charities get some. And I think quite a lot goes on land rental.

Yep, they have to rent in extra land, they recently signed a new deal covering the next 17 years, but no figures were reported in the article, but it can't be cheap.

Watching Lizzo at the moment. She's lush, not really something I'd put on at home but she's loads of fun and has loads of positivity.

Was watching the Glastonbury countdown warm-up last weekend, narrated by Edith person, I think. And she explained that Jack White was 'the first Jew' to headline the pyramid. The comment jarred a bit. You know: are we counting or something. But I guess it's all a case of firsts: Stormzy, the first British male Rap artist..etc. Cos, of course, Dylan has never done Glastonbury.

Dylan has done Glastonbury. I was there and he was dire.
