To anyone there, is the increase of BAME performers on the main stages changed the demographics? No digs meant. It is a very British white middle class tradition.
I managed not to for a change! Weed, heat and a week of crying about Bourdain and I'm drier than the Sahara.No. You're crying!

175000 public tickets I believeI was interested in numbers, and found it was licenced for 220,000 this year, it was comfortable when it was only 25-30,000.
Anyway around 30% are for staff, performers, stall-holders, etc, so around 154,000 go on sale @ £253 each = £38,962,000 in ticket sales!

I think it costs about 25 million to put on. Then 3 charities get some. And I think quite a lot goes on land rental.I got those figures from the licence issued by Mendip council, but it did say an approx 70/30 split.
If 175k were sold, it takes the figure to over £44m.

I believe they also rent Worthy land, and pay for disruption to business etc...Yep, they have to rent in extra land, they recently signed a new deal covering the next 17 years, but no figures were reported in the article, but it can't be cheap.
Was watching the Glastonbury countdown warm-up last weekend, narrated by Edith person, I think. And she explained that Jack White was 'the first Jew' to headline the pyramid. The comment jarred a bit. You know: are we counting or something. But I guess it's all a case of firsts: Stormzy, the first British male Rap artist..etc. Cos, of course, Dylan has never done Glastonbury.
Brilliant or awful. There is no in between with themGonna watch Fat White Family now. Enjoyed the last couple of singles so intrigued to see what they're like live.
