Glastonbury 2014

It has just been brought to my attention that DJ Producer is on at 4am Monday morning in Shangri La. That's the end of festival rinse out stomp sorted then :D

Balls.

Any chance you could pretend the festival finishes on Sunday night?

I do love that time of the festival...The universal denial that any sleep or packing must be considered and the eternal hunt for the last bar still serving after the dastardly surprise early close everywhere :D

The WBC bars on the Sunday will be open either 11am or noon and will stay open until Midnight although some will run on until 1am/2am/3am depending on the location { there will be five bars that is not due to close to 3am }

Note these are guide times as Bar Managers will make up their own mind depending on demand so some adjustments may be made.

I'm better at staying up on the Sunday than on any other night ... managed eighteen hours straight last time, without any particular enhancement other than a fairly average amount of cider** ... only at Glastonbury could I manage anything like this :hmm:

**ie very much below the 'caning buckets of it' level than can apply at the start! :D

So, usually plans fall apart once we get on site, but this year, plans seem to be falling apart at a much earlier stage. We'll still be fine I'm sure, but is a little bit dull.

Never mind bars, so long as there's still some stash left it's fine :D

Just been down to the site again today. Fair to say it's currently bone dry, some of the small cable trenches we dug and carefully filled in last weekend have shrunk and are visible again as cracks in the ground. The ground's not absolutely rock solid yet, I managed to get my tent pitched ok, but it's definitely heading towards rock solid, needed a mallet to get the pegs in certainly.

One of my team is booked on a 6am coach on Monday morning. Poor fucker! :D
I think I'm currently formulating a plan that the Werv and I get a coach home at 9pm on Sunday.

.... If the weather is amazing/we are having a blast I might revise the plan.

We now have tickets and shifts , have texted a few people on this ... amazingly, and completely unexpectedly, we've been been put on Green Info on the main uphill drag for all our shifts, just below the old railway line. Interesting change! :)

My phone's fucked and apparently I can't pm you  but I got the text and I'll wander past to say hi.

So no bands, but you get to see everyone in the entire festival, several times a day :D
And sit in the dust cloud of Pilton's equivalent of Piccadilly Circus!

I shall get my driver to do some extra wheelspins outside :)

Yes yes yes and the rest ... :p ;)

wiskey : We've been thinking about the types of questions we're likely to be asked there actually -- and you're right probably ... much more purely directional ones, fewer music focussed ones. All good though.
Remember green welfare is just the other side of the crossroads.... Send the ones who need a hug there. You're in the endless churn to the stones so you'll get interesting conversation from the punters :D

Of course you'll have to add in 'yes arcadia has moved go up there and turn right' to your repertoire and repeat it a million times over the festival.

I was told there's plenty of inertaction/co-operation generally between Green Welfare/Info and our Info so that'll be very handy I should think.

Oh yes the Arcadia relocation, we're already been reminded to be well aware of that because we certainly will be asked!

We've only got one late evening shift though -- the Friday for Stones-seeking mashed people fun. Saturday Sunday and Monday -- all those days will be mornings for us!

ETA : 8 am starts for those days, so that'll curb my enthusiasm for a mega Sunday night dirty stopout/stay-up as in previous years. Party time will have to be strictly afternoon/earlyish evening time, Sat and Sun!
At least we get to see Dolly
Observer review of her Liverpool gig suggests it will be great ... :)

8 sleeps for me. :) I'm really nervous. Coming on my own for the first time, working for the first time, scary. Plus I've seen forecasts predicting 25 degrees. Too hot for me.
