Glastonbury 2014

So people - meet up. When's it going to be and who's in. I'm going to get straight in there and suggest 3pm on Thursday at the cider bus. Who's in? It was a small but excellent turn out last year :)
I will try and come. Missed it last year as we weren't given our tickets until 4pm on the Thursday

Bah! The music line-up is shaping-up to be really good. It looks like I'm have to go and see some actual bands this year.

So, it's looking like Metallica, Dolly, Robert Plant, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, Pixies, Blondie, Vintage Trouble and Royal Blood as must-sees.

And maybe Jack White, Manics, Haim, Midlake, The Wailers, Plastic Ono Band, Parquet Courts, Jimi Goodwin, Kaiser Chiefs, MGMT, London Grammar, Temples, Dexys, Alison Moyet, Fisherman's Friends, Newton Faulkner, Steve Frost, Gong and Alabama 3.

(The usual disclaimer that I will end up seeing 50% of these due to circumstances within or without my control applies).

Oh, and I'm up for the Board Meet.

For me...Massive Attack, Pixies, Warpaint, Tune Yards, Mogwai, Four Tet, Parquet Courts, Lykke Li, Fat White Family, Drenge, Congo Natty.

I'll most likely see about 3 of these.

You see 50% of that lot, I'll be bloody impressed.

I already know my shifts. They're Friday to a week on Tuesday inclusive. Am definitely going to try to get a little time off this year though, am hopeful 3pm might be doable.

For me atm:
Metallica (mostly to watch the audience tbf :p:D)
Massive attack (cos every other time they played i was bloody well working!)

Any others will be as and when I get the time off...

An early clashfinder is out , looks like not too many for me , it will take a lot to beat last year , I honestly thought it was the best for years , i know its all subjective but the combination of weather and bands in 2013 really hit the spot .

Gone, looks like?
there is a theory that it was a test and they are planning to sell them soon

it was the full page but as I work at it I don't have a reg number so could not test the buy button

they were offering combined coach and ticket for the Wednesday and Thursday

Cruel test. Reminds me of the legends of Athens, as the Gods stirred the juices that enstewed the mortals, just to watch them wriggle. Mwaaah hhaaah ha haaah! :hmm:

I shouldn't give too much creedence to the clashfinder for a while yet. It's currently based predominantly on the stage times from last year and the order that the acts appear on the poster. Halvin will get it sorted when the full running orders are released (30th May last year).

Bollocks to 'em. Go and see what you want to see!
yeah totally. 'oh there's this totally cool indie band you should see here' *slap*

that said, when I met up with people last year I went around what they wanted to see for a while and saw some good stuff I'd never have thought to go see myself.

Does anyone know what the timetable for site set up is, roughly? Looking at the webcam there's nothing to see yet but I guess a lot of it is the unglamorous groundwork atm. It seems sensible to me to set up things like stage tents early so that they're out of the way but apparently sometimes they only go up a few days in advance?

Also last year at the stone circle I was chatting to this guy and I asked 'how long have you been up here?', meaning the Stone Circle, and he said 'i've been here about two weeks'. Was he just really fucked, or could he somehow camp in the area, only moving outside the perimeter when the fence went up? Or somehow hide on the site?

ohh you get to see fat white family, lucky you. everyone could have seen them playing to to 20 people for free if they had only listened to me.

Probably worked on the build-up in some capacity. I've done that a few times, and a couple of weeks is about par for the course.
