dignity is overrated
First of all, the coach journey was disgusting. A journey which should've take an hour and a half too fucking 10 hours. It was so hot in there I felt like a dog trapped in the back of the car. I had only made myself a little vodka and cocke bottle mix to drink and some meph, so by the time it got to about the 5 hour mark I was dying, and I said so, I said really loudly 'Oh my god I'm so thirsty I think I might DIE!!' and the boy next to me gave me some water.
I was right near the front so i had ample oppurtunity to annoy the bus driver with questions aswell, I'm pretty sure he hated me. And there was NO fucking toilet either so everyone kept having to go for wees at the side of the road like animals. Luckily I was so dehydrated I didn't need the loo but I did keep popping out to snort meph out of a pen lid. A PEN LID. Classy start to the fesstival. Still there was some nice comradery between all the travellers and we all did a nice big cheer when we FINALLY arrived.
So that night, just went and sat somewhere and ate loads of drugs. It was a bit messy and the next day I felt all wrong and thought I had something in my eye, but I didn't. Anyway met up with JTG and Strungout and wandered around the hippy bit and had a veggieburger fromt he most spaced out veggieburger woman ever. She was definitely high. And she tried to charge me £1 for a cup of water, and when I said no she said 'oh but it's SPRING water', oh, in that case, SPRING WATER?!! WOW!!
Then went back to my friends and we went to try and watch East 17 but there was some confusion about what time they were on, and we ended up in the cinema tent watching Ferris Bueller. Well, I say watched, I was so ketted up that I could see the pictures but I couldn't really connect them to any words so it was just a series of random images to me. During the film some girls were walking around telling everyone Michael Jackson was dead, like some kind of voluntary news service, we didn't believe it and I thought it was just one of those Glastonbury rumours people make, but everyone kept saying it and at one point we all just shouted 'can somebody PLEASE tell me, is MICHAEL JACKSON DEAD??!!'
But we just found it really funny at the time because my friend's sister had left her a voicemail saying 'Hi Hannah can you call me when you get this? Michael Jackson is in hospital and we don't know if he is going to make it', as if it was a relative! So we were mainly cracking up about it all.
And then someone a few tents down shouted 'CRAIG DAVID IS DEAD!' which was funny too.
Friday we got up and went to dance to Bjorn again, then we shouted some abuse about Gabriella Chlamidya and ate falafel and went then down to the John Peel tent and caught a bit of VV Brown and did some impromptu line dancing with the stewards, at one point they galloped around is doing crab movement. That was quite surreal and amazing. Then we watched Metronomy who were fucking brilliant, I wish their set had been longer.
Oh we also watched Regina Spektor who was really good, and I liked her lipstick. Then we watched a bit of the Specials and then went off to see Jamie T, who, I didn't really care about and I thought he was quite boring actually. Then we went off to see the end of Bloc Party and after that we went down to Trash City to get some pills and then went and danced our faces off at the Silent Disco. The pills were a bit shit though and just made me feel quite weird and after I got back to the tent I had some ketamine and fell into the worst K-hole of my whole life. It was terrifying. I thought my friend's snoring was a monster and kept saying 'WHAT'S THAT NOISE??!' and pretty much thought I had gone insane and was never going to come back. I did though of course.
Saturday we watched some Spinal Tap all sprawled out drinking cider, then we went off to watch King Blues who I really enjoyed, and I liked their sixth formy politics. 'woo this ones for Ian Mortimer woo! 'This one is for anyone skiving on the sick! wwoo!!'
Then we watched a bit of Bruce Springsteen who was a bit boring really, sorry, but he was just a BIT boring. Then we danced to pendulum a bit and then 2ManyDJs who were amazing. After that we went to the 3d silent disco, which, tbh, wasn't really THAT 3d and the glasses were quite annoying and the 3D wasn't exactly futuristic. But we just danced to the music anyway.
Yesterday was the BEST day. Went to watch the Yeah Yeah Yeahs who I really liked, and then Madness who I wasn't that fussed about but who were really incredible and we danced hard. Then we K-holed while watching Nick Cave and the bad seeds so I don't remember much of that but got some pills for Blur and was literally the HAPPIEST ever watching them, they were so fucking brilliant. After that we went up to the Stone Circle to get some more pills and then to Shangri-La where we ended up in a gay club where you had to wear a fake furry moustache to jump the queue. That was surreal. And then there was about 7 tranny shows. The DJ just kept shouting 'TRANNIES!!' and we tried to get on stage and one of the trannies said to us, 'no loves, this stage is for trannies ONLY and ended up pushing us off the stage, which was nice'
We danced forever and a day in there but eventually left and tried to find alcohol somewhere at about 6am and it was a bit depressing because it occurred to us that it was all over, and people were packing up and leaving, and we only managed to get some rankus orange juicey cocktails. Then we saw a woman being pushed about by a man in uniform and we all shouted 'BOOO!' because, you know, I don't like to hear 2 sides of the story, he must be in the WRONG, KILL THE PIGS YEAH! Yeah okay so apparently I turn into an anarchist while I'm there. Brilliant.
We went back to the tent and realised we had run out of drugs and walked around barefoot in our campsite asking for ketamine like zombie tramps. We did get some though and eventually fell into a nice sunny coma out on the rugs outside of our tent.
Then it was time to go home.
It was so brilliant though, all of it.
