Glastonbury 2009

thats what insurance is for, yo!

more bothered about my battery running out and have to queue up at that orange tent bastardy thing then it getting nicked or broken to be honest.

Just back from town after probably too much shopping, saw one of those 4x4 security land rovers on the way in, paperworked up with glastonbury site passes. A taxi driver blocked his route for a while, so he eventually pulled alongside and gave him an earful, must have become habit!

Sure i'm packing too much this year, with age comes a love of comfort i guess.

i gots a spare battery, still its quite a big ask of the phone to last 5 days if your taking lots of pics and posting stuff on the internet and tings.

should be fine for calling and texting and maybe the odd cheeky look at the sports headlines but much behond that and im running the risk of having to queue.

dave

ohh actually thats a point theres half a chance i will know some people there doing food things.

any liuck one of them can give me a charge if it becomes desperate.

Yeah, discipline must be used. I'm taking two (very old) phones, so it's my camera I'm worried about: one battery for 8 days  :hmm: :(

the orange glastonbury app has been released.

Basicly its an interactive map of the site and an electronic version of the guardaian guide and i think it will give you an alarm when someone your bothered by is playing.

tis nice.

Someone was going to send me a solar charger but they never got round to it.

Mentioning no names like.

*cough*Marty21*cough*

no text charge but will cost you a bit in data charges depending on your contract. Rhey reckon a amx of 75p.

dave
Really? Must be different to the thing they mentioned on the flyer/map thingy that came with the tickets. I get unlimited internet on my phone, will I still get charged?

nope you wont get charged, then.

if you use the link i gave above you wont get charged for the text, if you text the number you will.(i think)

Up on the Tor. First time. Sunrise is just over 2 hours. Can I make it? Totally lost will and co. They're yards away but it's sooo dark. Festy site glimmers in the distance.

reckon the coaches are safe?

since i'm doing law should probably not risk it or my career is BUSTED :(
if you are seriously studying law, ANYTHING on your record will lose you a career (if you were already well established it isn't the same)

be safe

Last time I went up the Tor with William, he slept through all the shenannigans, fire-eaters and fire-poiers cavorting out next to his head, and some Franciscan friars playing the accordian at the foot of his sleeping bag :D

Was so cloudy we weren't really sure whether the sun had come up or not. :hmm:

Will did relate a story along those lines. :)

Yeah was fun - very friendly crowd. I think I now know what the whole cider preference is about. We bought 4 litre tubs for £6.99. Head now hurts a little. ;)

off for breakfast now

Right, I'd best be off then!

I've made a sign for the meetup(s), not exactly the stencil masterpiece i'd hoped, but more in keeping with a festival i reckon. If you wanna look for it, it's blue and grey, with a big sun top right, and the legend 'Baby eating anarchists' (with the 'a' done as a red anarchy symbol for added cheese value).

Hopefully see people there, byeeeeeee!
