Glastonbury 2008

The BBC Breakfast forcast said it would be fine tomorrow until lunchtime at least( It didnt go later than that though)

a few showers will be fine though, so long as it doesnt absolutely cane it down we should be ok:)

Wunderground says it won't rain til Saturday!

I am supposed to be travelling up with friends (got a lift) tomorrow morning but my ticket is yet to arrive. I am sitting facing my font door in case the postman doesn't knowck twice.

Anyway does anyone know what will be open/on on Wednesday and Thursday? Do I need to bring plenty of food and alcohol for these two days?

No, most of the food stalls are open tomorrow. In fact a lot will already be open today as there will already be 30,000 people onsite by this evening. A lot of the bars are open from tomorrow lunchtime. Even the more outlying bars are open on Thursday.

As far as entertainment is concerned there is a big night in Leftfield on Thursday with the Levellers & loads of great ska bands. Some of the Shangri-La & Dance Area venues will be open. Late & Live and The Queens Head have a full programme on Thursday & places like The Bimble Inn will also have stuff going on.

Pretty much everything will be open apart from a couple of bars that don't tend to open until thurs night/fri morning.

Thanks Tort. So excited - that is if my ticket ever arrives and I get in!

Also do you reckon there will be loads od people getting in first thing tiomorrowmorning when the gates open?

Bloke in my work is heading down there later today. seems convinced that it's the action of a fool to go tomorrow. he's not working. i wonder if they'll let him in or if he'll be sleeping on a verge tonight.

They won't be letting in anyone - and very strict about it - unless you have a traders ticket. :hmm:

More & more people turn up early every year. You have to be one of the first through the gates to get a pitch in Dragon Field & a lot of the other more popular ones are full by Wednesday evening. I intend to get there a little after 8. Once the initial rush is over there tends to be a steady build up throughout the day with peak traffic in the afternoon/early evening.

Yeah, I doubt I'll be in the dragon, but we expect to get there mid-afternoon or earlier on wednesday. hopefully that'll get us somewhere near.

As shortcut says the security is very tight around the site & nobody without a staff pass will get anywhere near the site before tomorrow morning. The whole place goes into lockdown on the Tuesday night and anybody found loitering is likely to be invited into the back of a van by a burly security type chap. :hmm:

Have a good time, glastofolks - hope you get the weather you want! ;)

Give the cider bus a big kiss from me :)

What there is an exclusion zone including public places?
