Glastonbury 2008

<envies paolo>:D

I think there is an item on 'Countryfile' today - visiting the farm etc. If you miss it you can watch it again on the I-viewer.

It's on now! but haven't time to watch the prog right now!

The weather yesterday was great by all account, and today is looking great too. Sadly though, this could be the only time I'll see it like that this year.

it normally holds out until the gates open to the public and then it goes to pot

last year we had some mad huge storm on the Tuesday, I remember sheltering in Tiny Tea with Tort, Will and derv (think you were working).

Then it held for a day or so before it rained steadily through to the end building up to the climax of that awful sunday night/monday morning

actually i was sat next to you but thanks for noticing :p

that was a lot of rain for 5 mins. it was hardly a storm :p

I can't be expected to notice you every single time you're right next to me. I was drinking tea, multitasking is hard work

well i realise that I'm small and insignificant and easily missed so you are forgiven

(but i think you'll find i bought the tea)

it's possibly more to do with me being vague and not nearly as good as I used to be :(

yeah you never respond to my texts either . . . are you sure you're not too senile for glasto? perhaps we should retire you.

snot my fault my phone ran away under the bed

anyway, michael says old people are allowed after all so I'm safe for now

Hash4Cash was with us. William was in Glastonbury sending frantic text messages enquiring the state of the site :D

Went up Glastonbury tor yesterday and used some clever zoomery widgety stuff on my camera to have a look at the site.

Looked just like Glastonbury festival.

Just had my first proper look at the full line up on TOS

My god, that's a weekend full of so much win I almost wish I was a paying punter so I didn't have to miss as much as I will while working.

Anyone that thinks that's a shit line up must be deaf or hate music or summat

I've packed my rucksack :D there's still 10 sleeps to go

I'm gonna have a look at the lineup in a minute - I had a quick look the other day, but will rely on people who know what I like (looks hopefully at jtg) to let me know what I might like, cos I'm out of the loop!

kate nash is playing lots :-/

I have learnt that packing the rucksack is futile as you only unpack it fifteen times . . . so now we pile things up in a heap and cram it all in just before we leave the house.

Dr Meaker, Glade Stage first thing on Sunday - Bristol based live dnb and set I'm most likely top bump into the Bristol party crew at (if they're not in bed)

Just come back from Cornwall and loads of people with camping gear and wristbands packed the train out at Castle Cary.

I had to check the date. :D

so who's coming to see the wurzels with me at Avalon? Like Chas n Dave only with sensible accents and funnier lyrics. and besides, you're in Somerset so it'd be rude not to.

I have a feeling we might be joining you sir...

I was in Somerset today (6 miles from Glastonbury) and it was Glorious.
I hope it holds.( taking eldest back to school)
Eldests hissyfits houseparents reackoned it was more likely a winner this year,The house 'dad' is a landscape gardener so hes used to 'reading' the weather locally.
His opinion was "looking good so far!"

Where be yon blackbird to?
I know where ee be!
He be up yon Wurzel tree,
And I be arter ee!
Now I sees ee, And ee sees I,
Bugger'd if I don't get 'en
Wit a gert big stick I'll knock 'im down
Blackbird, I'll 'ave thee!

lol I wonder where they'd been. praps they got the date wrong and they have to do it all again in a fortnight

So what’s the deal with car parking if I haven’t got a car parking ticket? I seem to remember the land owners/farmers near the festival used to open their fields and charge people to park. Is this still the case? Any advice?

Nope. But you can buy one on the gate.
