Glastonbury 2008

They don't mention the bit about tickets then being sold through an utterly shite system that allows people to batch buy from the same computer - especially if they are nerdy members of TOS. Resulting in the festival being populated by 30yr old IT geeks and the occasional crusty who got in by accident.

As one of said "nerdy members" I can assure you that nobody knew about the loophole that allowed you to hit the "back" button & make multiple purchases until they tried it for themselves. And as TOS went into its usual ticket day meltdown that was the last place you would have been able to find out the information. It was only through the jungle drums operating on here & various other back up communications that people got to hear about & benefit from it. I'd be amazed if that loophole isn't firmly closed this year. But if it isn't people will look out for their mates, same as always.

Also that particular loophole has been there as long as tickets have been sold on line. I know that because me and my friends have used it for the last few years. It was even more usefull in 2005 when you could only buy 2 tickets at a time. I was really surprised about all the furore about 2007 as I thought everybody already knew

It may be a wind-up but a mate of mine reckons that Michael Eavis was on telly last night going on about booking a major urban* artist to headline 08. Im sort sitting between Roskilde, Bennicasim and Glasto this year. Given how crap the crowds were last year, adding an urban act as headliner, I think perhaps its time to get the passport in order.

* I think he was more on about RnB than having Dubversion do a dj set too headline the pyramid.

TBH I'd be amazed if they did close it.

Close the loophole I meant.
Ah, well that is if they even know the loophole exists.

Edit, has anyone come across a similar loophole with other high demand tickets like Reading or one of the big artists that sell out quicly that See Tickets sell?

Did I miss anyone posting the BBC News story about Glasto registration?

Eavis said:
He has not revealed any names from the line-up, but when asked by the BBC's Points West programme about his aim to attract a younger audience to Glastonbury: "I'm putting on a black American headliner, who's absolutely terrific that's going to appeal to those people."
So, Kanye West seems likely then...

I am really not sure about going this year and could do without the stress of getting a ticket. Of course come the weekend and if it's scorcher (positive thoughts) then i will be as envious as hell. Glasto is an expensive festival and I love and loathe the crowds in equal measures.

Aahh when the sun shines it is great

Looks like I am working at Glastonbury this year

What will you be doing? PM me if you'd rather not announce it here for all and sundry to see and start scheming about how they can take advantage of your work role to gain them access to site/backstage, etc! :)

I work there each year and become even more popular than usual round about the end of March/early April, for some reason! ;)

I guess you could say, "brevity is the soul of wit."

Am going, really sorry for my last few posts

Glastonbury is not worth getting excited about these days.

It's good and I'm going to go if I can get a ticket.

But it's not wild and inclusive anymore.

It's has too many fucking uptight posh pricks.
