I particularly like how it emphasises how much of the space has been enclosed and made private, unavailable to most people (btw I think the Jazz/Avalon camping should also be greyed). I don't like it any more when I can see it clearly on a map than I do when I'm there... especially as there are plenty of barriered off bits of the greenfields which may not show on official maps but are apparent on the ground.
A couple of minor suggestions- mark the market areas a bit more clearly, they're far more important navigationally than they currently appear; and highlight the paid for snobs and poseurs hotel areas (back of Lost Vagueness and parts of Pyramid backstage and the tipi field) in such a way that decent people know where those that are trying to destroy the festival hang out.
newbie said:I think it's pretty much right, but if you really want detail:
I'm in doubt about the extent of the grey area next to the pyramid disabled viewing platform. I'm not convinced it goes all the way to the Top Webbs Ash path boundary as shown, but I can't quite picture what does happen.
you're showing a grey square by the railway near the Other Stage disabled viewing platform. I don't think it should be grey.
there's an ever increasing amount of grey space around the Pennards Hill medical centre/cashpoints/cafe.
at the top of the site you've greyed the area around the church/cashpoints (& usually Radio Avalon). The public area boundary follows the track up to the corner by the bank... along there is the access to the main medical centre and welfare is.
I've written about 6 more points and crossed them out, realising you're right

Can I link to it from other sites please?

Maybe best not to plaster it all over efestivals eh? I think I've got plenty of bandwidth to go round, but I'm not sure
And if there are any corrections - let me know!
Crispy said:I had insomnia and coloured this map in to clearly show stages, camping, backstage etc.
If anybody wants to use it, it's here:
http://www.internsnetwork.org.uk/users/tom/glastomap.jpg
Fields : Green
Camping : Dark Green
Woods : Darker Green
Backstage / Crew Camping : Grey
Stages : Orange
Toilets / Water : Blue
Bars / First Aid / Cashpoints : Red
Paths : Brown
Stalls : Purple
Should be mostly accurate, based on memory and the map itself, but corrections are warmly welcomed

The 'Field of Avalon' camping area, next to the Tipi Field, is coloured in green as if it's public camping.
I very much doubt this. I think it should be grey for crew (unless there's been a MAJOR change), but perhaps others can settle that one ...
Tort said:efests is the last place I was thinking of - long story. Was thinking more the official Glasto site where I have a pinned thread with links to various maps of the site. But if you're worried about bandwidth I've got a fully paid up photobucket account which I can host anything under 250kb on with unlimited access. Needless to say I'll put your name up in lights as the creator.

If he plays his early stuff, not so cool; if he plays anything from the '80's and onward
Crispy said:Not sure about the black circles, but there's at least one in every campsite. Fire station maybe? Looks like there was a key on the original map (you can just see the corner in the bottom right. Wiskers, could you scan the key in pretty please?

There's been so many.

Well worth reding, even if you been lots of time!
Crispy - your map is fabulous - thanks very much
