Glastonbury 2005

thats not the Other stage - its about 1/3 the size and will prolly either house speakers or a screen. imo
Hmmm, I'm not so sure - speakers will be flown up in the air and don't usually need covering, and most large screens don't need anything as complex as that to cover them. It really does look like some kind of second stage. How odd.

If you mean a sack truck with nice big pneumatic tyres - great idea, even if its muddy. If you really mean a luggage trolley......hmmmmm, not such a good idea.

I have to second this I'm afraid sparklefish. The little luggage trolleys are too fragile to deal with the rough Glasto terrain, even in the dry. They are likely to keep falling sideways! :(

We're getting this trolly, it has 10" tyres that should cope with anything Glasto can throw our way :)

Sunray (currently in India) has lent us his mega super dupa heavy duty one -- like the above but even bigger and stronger!!
Is Sunray not coming this year then? Who will bring the Jelly Beans?

I have to third this. After years of carrying stuff i tried out a small trolley last year and it did keep falling sideways.

Got a fold up steel fishing trolley with huge wheels off ebay for £6 a few weeks ago- sorted! :)

Just been over to the efestivals Glasto Chat forums very briefly.

I ran away!!

It's ABSOLUTELY AWASH with hyperactive fanhead-addled idiots posting 'What I speculatively want to happen as if it's confirmed fact' threads.

I'm talking about 'possible replacements for Kylie'

So far over there we have ....

U2 (YET AGAIN) -- They're already fucking confirmed for Croke Park, Dublin, for at least 2 nights that very weekend!!!!!!!
Madness (would be very cool indeed, but it really pisses me off to see a what turns out to be speculation thread, headlined as if it's fact!!)
REM (already played twice since 1999)
The Fall (!) (surrealist wing of speculators)

and several others even less plausible ......

FFS!!

But we can still hope! Flight between Dublin & Bristol & back again to headline Sunday - job done :D

(Sorry William!) ;)

if you click on the map it goes HUGE

its the festival map - its an enlargement of the larger scale map which shows the car parks also. that map has the grid ref's on it. i'll try and scan that if i get a chance.

A little late...but thanks for the map. Must be the best I've ever seen of the site. (How weird would it be if, when we got there, absolutely everything actually was either black or white?)

Haha! :D

Much as I'd love to see Mark E Smith playing, after the strop he apparently had last time he played Glastonbury (I think 'fucking hippies' was in it somewhere) it's unlikely :D

The guys a dick.

Saw him once somewhere. He stop on his mic cable pulling it out and didn't even notice.

Think this was the same time he beat his drummer or guitarist up.

And all the people I've met so far who like the fall are, well, a bit up themselves :)

That must have been years ago, no??

its not late - its the first photocopies of the working map - how can it be late

anyways we're getting the blueprint of the final map they draw on the tues but by then i wont be near a scanner. so tough.

I didn't make myself clear.

I meant that my response to your post was late, not that it had taken you ages to post a map on the forum! (But if you could post 2007's up here a bit earlier, that would be great! Thanks.) ;)

no probs. i'll get my cartogrophers hat on now :p

hopefully will post the other map soon. so you can get grid ref's and view the car parks

I had insomnia and coloured this map in to clearly show stages, camping, backstage etc.

:)

If anybody wants to use it, it's here:

http://www.internsnetwork.org.uk/users/tom/glastomap.jpg

Fields : Green
Camping : Dark Green
Woods : Darker Green
Backstage / Crew Camping : Grey
Stages : Orange
Toilets / Water : Blue
Bars / First Aid / Cashpoints : Red
Paths : Brown
Stalls : Purple

Should be mostly accurate, based on memory and the map itself, but corrections are warmly welcomed :)

Crayon boy!! :p

Or are you actually colouring it in on line? Modern technology eh? :D

Spiffy photoshop job :) Although crayons would be fun...
