LOL Ferrari are rightly rather embarrassed about it, for those who don't know; Ferrari, was ridiculed online Tuesday after it tweeted about this weekend’s upcoming Formula One race in Montreal using an image of downtown Toronto. The Tweet has now been deleted. It was a video with the words “Montreal, Canada” showing the CN Tower, Lake Ontario and a image of down-town Toronto
The predictable result was loads of Tweets showing the Mercedes car under the Ferrari logo. How a company as big as Ferrari can let something like this slip through the net is beyond me, it appears their marketing department is run by the same people who decide their race strategy
Danny Ric news
Poor old Danny, he really is stick in an awkward place. He can't sign up with Red Bull until they decide which power-unit they will use next season (unless he already knows if Aston Martin will join the circus, even then, can he wait and will they be competitive, history shows it takes at least 3 or 4 years for a new engine supplier to catch up).
Word is that he has said he will not sign anything until he knows what Lewis is doing, but word is that Lewis has signed and the team is just waiting for the British Grand Prix to make the announcement. Niki Lauda and Helmut Marko were both at Red Bull Ring yesterday to witness the first run in an F1 car of MotoGP star Marc Marquez. During the post-test press conference the two men engaged in an interesting exchange. Niki said "Lewis is staying with us", Marko's responce was "Ricciardo doesn't want to sign until Hamilton has signed, it's a bit strange. Hopefully it ends soon". Lauda insisted "We have not made [Ricciardo] an offer, so he can wait forever".
While we are on the subject of Ricciardo, he is going to get some form of grid penalty this weekend as he will have to change some engine parts following the problems he had in Monaco. For sure he will need to change his MGU-K as that was burnt to a crisp. Adrian Newey is reported as saying "considering it [the MGU-K] caught fire and was a burnt out, charred wreck, I don't believe it is salvageable”. Drivers are allowed three power units per season but only two MGU-Ks, two energy stores and two control units without incurring a 10 place penalty for the subsequent race. It isn't yet known if the MGU-K problems have had an effect on the Batteries.
