F1 2023

Seems to be a loose drain cover. Actually, it's the entire frame that's departed from the road. Can't weld a frame to a tarmac road...

Sainz hit it.

Split the car's floor and chassis.

Safety issue - the stewards left their den and came to look at the damage to the Ferrari.

Commentators keep talking up the sheer excitement of being in Las Vegas... the exploratory lap times set my ten cars.

Nice try, Jenson. Let's see you keep this up for the next hour. Oh, cut to some fountains. Oh, a floodlit NCP.

"Quite an embarrassing start to the weekend." - Simon Lazyboy.

"How can you be sure the track will be ready for FP2?" - Brundle.

Also, Ocon's car is fucked as well. They're changing the chassis.

"All this preparation, you have to feel for the teams..." - Lazyboy.

"It is what it is, move on..." - Brundle again.

Ask the spectators in the stands, Marty.

Concrete frame round a manhole cover has failed.

Inspections for the whole track. Repairs where needed.

Brundle reckons that's it for the day.

Plus they won't be opening the roads for regular traffic any time soon. The locals will love that.

Lazyboy - elephant in the room - there's a lot of money tied up here and it's not working.

Patrick - Vegas is full of construction crews. If anywhere can fix it, Vegas can.

Sad shots of a casino's lights. Like a disappointed Blackpool.

Re-run the shots of Button hitting a cover in Moncao.

I detect the makings of a class-action law-suit...
Have you ever read the terms and conditions when you buy a ticket for an F1 race :) I think they'll be covered unless they have changed them since Bernie's day :)

But for sure they lawyers will be lining up

hmm heard rumbling somewhere that the race start was amended to 10 pm on Saturday to appeal European race fans

why the fuck would a 6 am start appeal to European race fans when we have races like the Texas go that start at 7pm UK time anyways :hmm:

Since 84.7% of US citizens appear to be lawyers, I'm gonna bet they'll have a go. In the end, the organisers will 'discover' they're insured for the loss and the names at Lloyds will fork out.

Dilemma. Shall I try to make it for FP3 scheduled for 04:30?

But given Las Vegas's run of luck so far, the session will be interrupted by an alien mothership returning to collect its child, the Pulsating Advert Testicle.

Hmm... If that's on the cards, I want to see it live.

:)

Well, here I am making a small mountain out of mashed potato...

And here's Danica Patrick saying the spectators evicted yesterday won't really mind because Vegas is Vegas, baby.

I wonder which planet she's from...

Woo, Gordon Ramsey is there...

And Rod Stewart.

Surely there are more celebs the cameras can purr over! What's that you say? Brad Pitt's skulking about?
