Dug out my old box of England paraphernalia. This was the reduced version of what I used to have, and doesn't include all the shirts... :D

If by some catastrophic miracle Italy contrive to fail, my exit strategy is to flat out refuse to accept the result.

I don't get the hate for Kane, for a man doing his job well. We had to spend years following a team with John Terry in it. This is like paradise.
I took it to mean if Kane misses he won't have loads of dickheads questioning his commitment to England like has happened with many, many black and brown sportspeople over the years.

If we're going to win please let it be Sterling who scores the winner.

If we're going to lose on penalties, please let it be Kane who misses the vital one.
Yeah, to knock £10 million off his asking price so Man U can snaffle him up.

IN terms of the 'fuck you johnson' politics of the thing, the one single best outcome is Rashford coming on to get the winner in the 120th minute, before revealing a suitably messaged undershirt. 'SCHOOL DINNERS v BULLINGDON DINNERS'.

Camera zooms in to the shirts to find they've been specially doctored with Karl Marx's face instead of Lions on the badge. The whole team, throughout the tournament, and we've only just noticed.

I'm on me own in London. I'm not sure if I should seek out pals to watch the game with - if they've found a covid-suitable location.

Today is going to be a bloody long day.

ffs. We have settled down to that tennis thing (come on ABD) and I have had an awful realisation.

FILb is all but deaf. He needs subtitles. They block up to a quarter of the playing surface and are a few seconds behind the actuality. They’re fucking maddening.

Blessing in disguise being deaf for football commentary. Has that ITV bloke left yet? I saw an article begging for him to be put out of his misery. Just before half time in the Denmark game he gave us "A goal now for England would be....(ridiculously long pause as he searches for a word)...good"

Has anyone ever been enlightened by the commentary? Apart from that woman who's brilliant but nobody is on her level to understand?

I don't really like Lynch mobs for Commentary but fucking hell Matterface was awful. He was babbling away about the country deserving it because of covid etc. A fucking worldwide pandemic. Ugh.

Hopefully Jenas isn't on BBC cause he is also shocking.

Being told when a team has changed its system. I'm not great at picking up on systems when I'm watching live from the stands. On telly, when you can't see the whole pitch, it's hard even if you know what to look for.

It's a pity ITV still haven't promoted Emma Hayes to top billing. And it's a pity she's on ITV. I won't hear her tonight, cos adverts.

Big fan of ITV pundits but agree commentators and co-commentators are dire on both channels. May try watching the match on BBC with 5 live comms

Will stick to ITV pundits cos Wrighty

Be careful, I tried it a couple of times and it fried my brain.
Not like the good old days of BBC simulcast.

Massive thunderstorm brewing here, biggest of year apparently, so much so we got a text from the Flood Prevention Board about watching out for flash floods, so here's hoping the power doesn't go out ten minutes before kickoff.
