Big fan of ITV pundits but agree commentators and co-commentators are dire on both channels. May try watching the match on BBC with 5 live comms

Will stick to ITV pundits cos Wrighty

Co-commentators should be banned. They can come in for the last five minutes of the first half and then fuck off. Commentators used to have music and rhythm to their speech. Now they're just waiting for the moment they can release their shit pun on the world after the first goals goes in.

Again. Spoof or real? Don't know.

It's a terrible thing to admit to but Kane's face just gives me the fear...in a sort of Burt Reynolds way. (creeps off in shame). Wouldn't be too fussed if Mount didn't play. Would like to see Grealish on earlier, just to do his thing of running at people and getting the shit kicked out of him - think that would rattle the Italians), Mostly, hoping for an early goal and 90 minutes game (have literally worn out the carpet by pacing and manic bouncing in my battered rocking chair).
I was 10 in 1966 and had a mad crush on the Russian goalkeeper (Yashin).

Would be tempted to watch on ITV if Souness was commentating - the miserable cunt

Being told when a team has changed its system. I'm not great at picking up on systems when I'm watching live from the stands. On telly, when you can't see the whole pitch, it's hard even if you know what to look for.

It's a pity ITV still haven't promoted Emma Hayes to top billing. And it's a pity she's on ITV. I won't hear her tonight, cos adverts.
Yeah, she's good because you actually learn something from her. Ian Wright's been good for a few years, though I'm probably well disposed to him for his all round good blokeness. When he started out doing commentary years ago his son was playing in the England team and he used to get mad excited. Cue the rest of the commentators patronising him. He's also a foil to Roy Keane who doesn't seem very, erm, keen on. Klinsman's been great, a proper grown up. Beyond that, I'm struggling to think of any of the current crop who add much to watching football. Must be some though.

I've just walked past one of my locals here in east london where a rousing rendition of 'you can shove your pepperoni up your arse' was in full swing, being belted out by everyone from OAPs to the little ones.

for some reason on days like this i let things like that slide and have a bit of a giggle.

Wimbledon is finished so I’ve moved onto beer.

I thought it was English, but it turns out to be Belgian. Not sure what that means.

but but but underhand tactics are apparently fair game, as long as you win
Of course they are. Only someone who doesn't watch football or at least understand it would think otherwise.

Anyway, why don't you create a thread for the ABEs rather than trying to spread your bitterness and vitriol around 'ere

Why is having an opinion differing from the accepted narrative "bitterness" and "vitriolic"?
Are people supporting Italy allowed to post on this thread or is it too upsetting for you?
