David Icke on the Russell Brand show

(((Boxcar Willie)))

Nah - He's definitely in on it. No-good shape-shifting train-a-hoppin guitar-a-pluckin bastard. Have you not seen the film of Bush and co. gathered round a giant bindle stick tossing cans of strong beer into the fire?

His view (which I share, unlike lizards) is that our identity is not defined by tags such as religion, or race, even our bodies are simply 'software programs' and we are all part of the same cosmic consciousness.
Yeah, maaaaan.

So tell me more about his 'cosmic consciousness' and what it actually means, please. How does it manifest itself? Can only 'believers' feel it? And who invented it, what's the point of it and what is it supposed to lead to (apart from another DVD box set, natch)?

I bet must people would not even notice him if we passed him in the street, if we did we would probably think – oh he looks like Icke, by they time anyone considered pointing & laughing he would be gone

I'll have to see if I've still got a football sticker with him on

Send me a tenner, and I'll send you a DVD that explains exactly what's so admirable about doing all you can to help shift dodgy DVDs :)

Small ad: Send me £5 to find out how to make money easily.

To be fair I don't think this 'cosmic consciousness' and the idea that everything's part of the same thing is a new concept thought up by Icke, I think this idea has been touched upon in quite a bit of eastern philosophy.

the anti-semitism thing.

Icke defended holocaust denier David Irving's failed libel suit against Deborah Lipstadt as a fight for freedom of speech.

So let me get this right... Somebody says something, you take them to court for saying it and that's defending free speech.

Icke is at best an apologist for an anti-semite.

Well the funny thing is the question Eamonn Holmes asked him is 'why did you do it?' - he couldn't understand why Icke 'gave up' an absolutely top role in the media - he'd started presenting 'Grandstand' - to be laughed at in the street. And for a good while he was lecturing in front of the proverbial one man and his dog. Indeed a curious path for someone out for the fast buck.

You might say he's bonkers but he's certainly honest and genuinely motivated.

I think he is definitely mentally ill (admittedly I've seen nothing since that shameful Wogan point-and-laugh-at-the-psychotic episode) but nothing I've read since makes me think that he's back in his right mind.

So what does Icke's version mean then?

Or haven't you actually bothered to research that either?

Yes! You surely can't go any higher in the media world than a Grandstand presenter. He'd have to be absolutely bonkers to give that up!

Oh, hang on.... :D

PS Any chance of you explaining what Icke's 'cosmic consciousness' actually means please?

Oh fuck off, stop implying that I think Icke is some sort of prophet with great ideas, I don't. I was just pointing out that it's not a new idea, i'm not defending Icke at all, I have no idea what Icke's "version" means and nor do I care.

He's not racist smoky. This is so tiresome. Anyone that goes to his lecture will be quite aware that he isn't - he didn't even mention the word 'Jew' in six hours last time. His view (which I share, unlike lizards) is that our identity is not defined by tags such as religion, or race, even our bodies are simply 'software programs' and we are all part of the same cosmic consciousness.

He is (or at least has been) anti-semitic Jazzz. You know it too.

Dicky Davis has a lot to answer for. Surprisingly enough I can't find a picture of him anywhere on Goggle Images - It was the owls wot did it!

since when has a possible mental illness being cause for ridicule?
If you're going to play the outraged card, I think you should decide whether he is suffering mental illness or not, you know.

Was that the occasion when Wogan pushed him into making ever more outrageous statements - I recall a prediction that Cuba would sink, was that the time?

If so, then yep, it was very unpleasant and Wogan behaviour was inexcusable.

To be fair to Terry Wogan, Icke had already made most of those statements to an assembled gathering of reporters and all Wogan was doing was probing him further on them to determine whether or not he was being serious. Icke claims in his autobiography that when he saw film of that TV program, he didn't recognise himself.

I don't think he is. He says that Jews are and have been as much victims of the worldwide conspiracy as anyone.

As for the show last night; I think Russell Brand gave him a pretty easy ride, but Icke did pretty well in providing a thumbnail sketch of his worldview in the limited time available.

Any talk of small Jewish cabals controlling world events behind the scenes sets alarm bells ringing with me, as it should with anyone possesing even a basic knowledge of European history.

He was sacked by the BBC for refusing to pay his poll tax.

I'm not outraged in the slightest, I just find the tone of your comments and the words you use to describe certain people rather sad and unnecessary.

Oh don't be ridiculous, this is so old hat. He says nothing that is anti-semitic or racist at all. This accusation is simply spurious bumfluff.

His speaking out against racism is far more convincing than I've heard from anyone else.

The philosophy that we are all the same cosmic consciousness is entirely incompatible with racism, and that's all there is to it.

Nah, Geller is just an outright fraud.

Then why do oil and other mineral extraction companies pay him thousands to assist in prospecting? Could be they know something you don't.

Stone me, this board's depressing sometimes.

He associates himself with VERY dodgy people including several neo nazis

If hes not anti-semitic (and I'm not really sure he is - I think he actually believes his bonkers lizard theory) then he must not really care about who his friends are or what they believe or what he uses to back up his ideas in his books ...

A lot of the stuff he writes is classic anti-semitic conspiracy material, he even cited the protocols of the elders of zion (written by someone with a far bigger claim to be part of an elite group with major influence in world affairs than the people he was targetting - a member of the russian secret service in the late 19th century/early 1900s FFS) in one of his books ffs
the theory about the rothschilds controlling "all the world's money" has been going on since god knows when - since at least before the protocols was written

at the very least he's not someone anyone should take seriously and he obviously is in need of professional help. it is obvious that he's not fully mentally all there, and perhaps has some kind of delusional/psychotic illness

what pisses me off though is that there are conspiracies going on all the time, but it aint got fuck all to do with the rothschilds or hollywood actors gathering round a giant owl, or the bilderberg group ffs

Are you actually serious? :D

He's a piss poor magician, with a repetoire of no more than 5 basic tricks. He's been exposed as a cheat/fraud countless times.

He's nothing but a joke.
