Charlottesville aftermath discussion thread...

After years watching American courtroom dramas the incompetence of the defence lawyers in this case is depressing. Mind, I doubt any lawyer with a thriving practice would even answer the phone to this crew.

For a bit of light relief here's an example of a local (to Charlottesville) lawyer thinking outside the box:

The trial is over. The case and the claims were complicated and I don't fully understand all the decisions, but the jury found the defendants had conspired civilly to commit hate crime racial, religious or ethnic harassment or violence in Charlottesville.

Interesting that a jury hand picked for their political neutrality (naivety?) awarded punitive damages of $6 million against a bunch of nazis.
