Beating the Fascists: The authorised history of Anti-Fascist Action

Rather reminds me of the time revol68, from this parish, called me a 'red action bulldog chewing a wasp skinhead because I called him and his pals out on an anti-war demo in Edinburgh 20 years ago..... I was a skinhead back then....
Wonder what he is upto these days , and that Nigel Irritable?

Nigel will be taking part in the split in the CWI and revol will be telling all about how his dad,, a former screw in jails in the North, was not a legitimate target.
Wasnt Ireland's leading anarchist once a victim of an attack by cider swilling anarchists at the book fair ?

Revol68 has probably taken up his position in the family firm by now, his income supplemented by Pater’s Trust Fund….

If I recall my ancient history correctly, wasn't it that people went looking for him but couldn't find him so they hit one of his mates instead? Or was it vice versa? Hopefully Freedom will publish a comprehensive history of bookfair beef that we can rely on to sort these kinds of questions out in future.

Yes it was a certain well-known ABC solidarity activist from the time who punched revol's taller, thinner friend. Iirc it was because of an argument over the campaign to release a controversial prisoner.

I remember that debacle. Not anarchism's finest hour.

I recollect some twat getting a slap at the spoons after the bookfair. I thought it was some complete wanker from that website. Jack something? Was he revols pal? I was a bit pissed. Same year as beating the fash was published.

there's always some twat gets a slap at the spoons after - and sometimes during - the bookfair.

Wasn't some mate ( deceased now I think) of The Blackhands and Dave Douglass chastised and tomato ketchup thrown at him? Northern bloke who wrote something about the decline of anarchist agitation within the working class and trade unions.

Brian Bamford of Northern Voices got a strong telling off with summat like ketchup coffee chucked on his stall. He'd published a vicious poison pen article against a friend and comrade in Manchester (Bob Miller) who had recently died. Bamford didn't get battered on account of his age, but he did get told to fuck off from the bookfair.

That's him, Bamford. Wrote an interesting piece on anarchism and trade union intervention that popped up on my timeline on Twitter I think a while ago.
