In 2000, the election came down to 537 votes in Florida. The legal challenge in the Supreme Court succeeded only because the margin was so small.

In 2020, if as expected Georgia goes to Biden, he ends up with 306 electoral college votes. This means the challenge for Trump is to overturn the results in states that add up to 37 electoral votes, which means Pennsylvania (20 votes) and at least 2 others. All of them where the winning margins are in the tens of thousands, and none of them with any meaningful evidence that would overturn margins of that size.

It isn't going to happen.

Especially as dons lawyer in penn has admitted they have no evidence of any vote fraud happening.

He doesn't have to overturn them. Just get recounts and then turn the recounts into a focus for violence.

Granted, but that's not so straightforward. As I understand it the rules for recounts are set at the state level and so vary from state to state.

For example, in Arizona there is an automatic recount if the winning margin 0.10 percent of the total vote, or less. Biden's winning margin is currently closer to 0.4%, so that condition is not met. (The count is currently around 98% complete I believe, so that may change.) Candidates cannot request a recount in Arizona.

Conversely, in Pennsylvania, there is an automatic recount when the margin is 0.5 percent or less. Currently, with 99% of the vote complete, the winning margin is at around 0.7% so again the condition is not met for an automatic recount. However candidates may petition a state court to order a recount, but only by alleging errors in the original count. Trump's campaign is trying to do exactly that, but it's not going well for them so far:

That's LOSER talk though, you won't get anywhere with that sort of attitude.

But Trump is a WINNER, so turning over winning margins in the tens of thousands without any meaningful evidence will be a doddle for him.

Oh look - Ivanka is celebrating Trump's win in Alaska!

So evidently the news networks DO have the right to call election results, but only when Daddy wins ...

As predicted, the law suits are biting the dust.
  • In Arizona, his team dropped a lawsuit seeking a review of ballots cast on Election Day after it became clear his rival's lead was unassailable. The challenge was based on a claim that some legal votes had been rejected
  • In Michigan, a judge rejected a request by two Republican poll watchers - who had alleged fraud in Wayne County - to block the certification of election results in Detroit
  • In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the Trump campaign's requests to invalidate several batches of mail-in ballots were rejected

And it looks like it's finally sinking in with Donny himself:

Mr Trump said he would not impose a lockdown to fight the virus, adding: "Whatever happens in the future, who knows which administration it will be. I guess time will tell."

I think I can hear a fat lady singing.

One of the most shameful things about Trump's refusal to concede is how it has siphoned so much media attention away from the pandemic - the headlines, even from a press conference on the government's COVID response, are "Trump Briefly Appeared to Acknowledge Loss," when they should really be "Idiot President Lies About COVID," "Insane President Threatens to Withhold Vaccine From New York," or "Lying President Claims Credit for Vaccine, Promises Delivery Within Months."

Though the media isn't exactly blameless - the lead story should really be "Infection Rates Hit Terrifying New High as Pandemic Grips Nation," not "Stupid President Says Stupid Things."

The US is hitting well over 130k cases every day :(

177k on Friday - eight days after just over 100k set a new record.

That's what you get with a COVID denier as president - with a total absence of federal leadership, states are trying to chart their own paths, but Hawaii seems to be the only one able to try to stop infected people from other states spreading the virus.

Wtf?

I think this is where Trump is going with his legal battle.

According to SP, Trump won in a landslide and Dominion voting machines are part of organised fraud.

Not sure what to think tbh, but 2020 is fucking nuts.

You're a little late to the party, that has already been debunked, you fucking moron.

FFS, you're like the bloody Duracell bunny, going on, and on, and on.

So this has already been discounted by legal authorities relating to the election?

At the time of his first tweet on the subject, Trump claimed this "evidence" showed 2.7m switched votes, while the deficit in the popular vote was 5.36m.

Notice anything coincidental about those numbers?

The Dems switched just enough  isn't it obvious?

Right - so has the GSA ascertained a winner yet?

Trump has already had over a dozen court cases dismissed since the election day, due to there being no fucking evidence whatsoever, do you think any court is going to give any time to this latest bullshit claim, in view of the evidence from the coalition below?

A national coalition announced Thursday that there is no evidence that any voting software deleted or changed votes in last week's election, per USA TODAY.

In fact, the security group — which includes the Department of Homeland Security's Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency and the National Association of State Election Directors — described the election as "the most secure in American history."

"There is no evidence that any voting system deleted or lost votes, changed votes, or was in any way compromised," the coalition concluded.

The GSA don't decide the winner, they merely authorise the winner to start the transition process. Funnily enough, the head of the GSA is a republican appointed by Trump. I wonder why she hasn't signed the forms yet? 🤔
