Sometimes I think people post odd stuff on here just to check whether anyone is paying attention Or maybe I am a bit of a meal traditionalist
I've got some sausages out of the freezer so when Nate gets home I'll do those for myself and he can have some veggie ones, we've got some potatoes which I will do something with to go with the sausages, either beans or peas with that.
Some sort of Carbonara Pasta tray bake and salad, made by my brother who also chucked grated cheese and salami onto the bake midway through cooking which was a rather nice addition.
One or the other of the kids cooks on Tuesday night, and tonight was my youngest's turn: he made a righteous chicken, leek & rice soup with lemon, tarragon & parsley. What a treat!
Yesterday - chippy dinner - shared a small cod, a saveloy and a roe with my son, breaded mozzarella sticks for the girl, large chips between us and curry sauce and mayo.
Today - curried sweet potato, carrot and apple soup with a part baked ciabatta with added garlic/herb/cheddar butter. Fruit for pudding.
I wasn't too certain what was going to go with our sausages yesterday - it ended up as a proper kiddie meal of sausages (pork/quorn), cheesy mash, and spaghetti hoops.
The last few days' dinners have been based on red meat (merguez stew, beef chilli and venison in Guinness stew) so back on the oily fish: peppered mackerel from a tin, batch tabouleh, kalamata olives and a few cherry toms. Maybe a coconut milk yog after. Budvar as an amuse-bouche first though.
Oh no, you pay for delivery and get meh, no-one needs that I order food so infrequently, that would be really upsetting to get a meal that is just meh.
I mean seriously at least if I cook something myself and it isn't great I can put it down to kitchen malfunction which doesn't happen often, but just occasionally shit goes wrong and there is a disappointing meal. If you order in, you are expecting a bit better than some equivalent of drunk Epona trying to put something together in the kitchen and failing (I do usually succeed though) and you have full expectation for a really good meal.
Tesco veggie Cumberland saussies, mashed spuds, mashed carrot and swede, peas, onion gravy. I bought autumnal food on the last shop and it's done nowt but crack the flags ever since
