West Ham 2022-23: The Road to Prague

Just bought some from some tourist site. 156 quid for three which isn't too extortionate but two of us are kids so they're adding a bit on. Exciting.

SEMI-FINAL DAY!!!
My mate is looking at Prague flights which is a wee bit forward but I reckon after a few pints we might just go for it.

AZ are like the Brighton or Brentford of Holland which isn't a good sign for us:

The Frankfurt games were such an anticlimax with the red cards and early goals. We really need the defenders to be on point and not have one of those mad days of getting sent off, playing everyone onside, not marking and giving the ball away in the 6 yard box.

Oh no.

We looked at the Prague stadium last night and I think it holds <20k so no chance of a ticket for that.

I entered the ballot on UEFA but its not massively likely to go my way. My friend's sister used to be commercial director at WHU so there is some faint hope of a favour but thats just me trying to be optimistic.
Its good that they give the finals to the less glamorous countries but 18k for a final is daft.

Good luck tonight.

The pub at the top of my road already has about 40 chaps warming up. It used to be a main pre pub before you moved, I haven’t seen this many so early in a number of years.
Which one is that? I'm off to the Bow Bells when work boredom/pre-game excitement takes over

Thank you mate. We're on the train. Tourist agency didnt mention that you need to pick up the tickets from the office before 6 🙄

Just having daymares about previous semi finals in my life...oldham, luton, forest, birmjngham, man city, frankfurt...shudder. my late dad took me to villa pk for the forest 91 debacle. Poor fucker didn't even like west ham

In a strange way I look back on the Forest debacle with some pride! The support/singing that day was incredible. Got stuffed, but still sang our hearts out.

Turns out AZ Alkmaar are diving time wasting pricks and the referee is blind / bent. One of the most infuriating halves of football i have ever had to watch.

Any idea why the good goalkeeper isn’t playing?

If no good reason worth sacking Moyes for that.

Thought West Ham did well to turn a frustrating game around . AZ are one of those efficiently built and coached stats based/ money ball teams who seem to find players that suit them at a price that suits them. Dogged .

Makes no sense. Play the best team.

Maybe big teams might start playing their “cup keeper” in the semi final of the champions league
Yeah it's weird but the assumption is that he'll take over when Fabs leaves, so he seems to get all the cup games. He's usually better than he was tonight.

The worst bit was when one of them was rolling around on the floor whilst we had the ball and then as soon as we put it out of play for him to get treated he shot up and jogged away. Couldn't believe he wasn't booked for it.

Genuinely hope they go out of business. Absolutely awful club, really annoyed me. Straight to the top of my shitlist. Delaying stuff, faking injuries, rolling about and fuck knows what was going on with the defender passing it to the goalkeeper for goal kicks - must have just been to wind everybody up.

I just remembered: when Zouma got injured against Palace, we were singing 'That's how your cat feels'

At least that one probably wouldn't have made any difference. Guess that's progress?
