West Ham 2022-23: The Road to Prague

Vlasic gone, Diop gone, Masuaku gone, Benny maybe going. Moyes being pretty ruthless. I approve but we're looking a bit short on numbers.

Scamacca, Cornet, Coventry and Ashby all start. Looking forward to this now.
Yep, I mean it's all set up for a famous Viborg victory but it's a decent team under the circumstances. Reckon Ashby is going to be great.

Impressed with Scamacca. Good control, nice passing, and a helluva shot. As well as the header for the goal.
Cornet offside a lot but had some good moments.
It all felt a bit pre-season and until the 1st goal we looked half asleep. I hope we get one of these central midfield/playmakers types I keep reading about.

What a load of old shit. They looked half asleep. Are they just burnt out? A new midfielder to replace Soucek and give us a bit of drive and imagination is the priority now I think.

I only watched the second half, and I'm used to losing to Brighton, but yeah that was fucking atrocious. No effort whatsoever.

Emerson's signed. An actual leftback. Slightly lisped eyerons.

I always thought he’d do more at Chelsea . Case of when he was good he was good and when he was bad he was really bad . Good enough to be a fairly regular member of the Italian squad though.

Moyes won't play him until 2024 anyway. I don't think that we're a club who can turn our nose up at an Italian international defender, no matter how far down the order he was at Chelsea. It's just good to have a left back who isn't really a right back or a left winger making do.

Emerson was one of those I kept forgetting were still at Chelsea, a bit like Ampadu. They are both decent players they just get shunted aside when new managers bring in their own favourites.
He was part of both international and club European champions only a couple of years ago so yes, Moyes has spotted a bit of a bargain there.

Group B - Steaua Bucharest (sic), Anderlecht, and Silkeborg. I suppose we should be expected to win the group but its a decent standard anyway.

I might get to use my Eurostar voucher from my cancelled trip to Genk.

Anderlecht will be good. They're a decent team. I know nothing about the other two. Oh FSB are Steaua Bucharest, cool.

I'm not going to jinx it but if this Brazilian superstar comes in that might be reasonably exciting.

His mate Bruno has transformed NUFCs midfield, apparently Paquetá is the better of the two. I was hoping we would be in for him but Wilson's injury may have made us turn to filling that position sooner.

Much better tonight. Looked more like our old selves so such a relief. Chelsea are definitely beatable on Saturday.

Love the Coles too!

Yeah. Kehrer looks to be a steal. Paqueta is going to be the new Di Canio. We're going to be decent in about a months time. Chelsea definitely beatable, we look to be getting back to form. Nice to see Bowen playing a bit better too. Should have won that.

Spurs looked dangerous in the first half but we were on top in the second and should have won it.

Sat on row 4 for a change. Got rained on so at half-time I was thinking of just going home but stuck it out and it came good in the end. All hail Antonio! It was a bit odd not having any PA or music. Would singing Bubbles really have upset people?

I know right? I went last night, for the first time this season, and half way through my son was like "dad, there are no adverts!". I quite liked the quiet music at half time though. Thought Downed looked really good, can definitely see him coming through this year.
