US election 2020 thread

More to the point, it's looking like Biden will take PA and GA. If he does, then I think something very weird would have to happen for Trump to then win overall. So Florida may just be a sideshow.
He literally needs to win one good sized state over and above MI & WI and he's won pretty much. Florida is not the whole game

texas might be trumps as well :(

oh - the gaurdians online map thingy has mover it back to blue

I'm really trying not to get sucked into the sports-style coverage of CNN; it's not sport, the votes have been cast and things can't be changed now, the only thing that matters is the final tallies.

Buuuuuuuuut... it's hard :(

It says that Trump has 10.8 million votes and Biden has 10.5 million . Sue
Hilary Clinton won the popular vote last time but lost the electoral colleges. Biden will win the popular vote but could still lose the electoral colleges. Depends on the distribution of votes. (And it's still too early to know how all this will look.)

Georgia looks to be going for trump.

They've three weeks to sort their shit out (as my American colleague put it earlier...) In 2000, it seemed to go on forever (sure it didn't, it just felt like it).

ETA That was at frogwoman.

It's all too much, this seems way closer than 2016 though where it was off to a bad start from the beginning. Oh no he just got Arkansas. Isn't that Bill Clinton's old state?

Ooh that’s quite a biggie. Not in terms of votes, but if they can win that then it’s enough to win Pennsylvania n Michigan
I wouldn't correlate them, very different demographics

But it's 15 EC votes so significant
