US election 2020 thread

Of all the things I've learned about the USA over the past few years, the most amazing is how even people in good jobs are content with only two weeks' holiday in order to enjoy the great outdoors ..
Yes, I once worked in a firm where EU workers all had 25 days but the American employees had just 15.

Let's hope with UK moving away from EU that there isn't downwards pressure on holidays here!

Don’t think there’s any particular symbolism, the person who started it seemed to be on about a celebration of breakfast or something. I think a lot are also doing it with the ‘stopthesteal’ hashtag too, which is otherwise full of cranks going on about how there was definitely massive voter fraud because their 8-bit brains cannot process defeat.

This angry twat...
“So how many of you big talkers are going? I’m so sick of this crap. 99 percent of you f****** just sit and yell at the TV while the f****** pinkos are taking down the country,” he wrote. “I’m gonna be there 100 percent. And the rest of you f**** deserve the country you will get.”
...got his Airbnb cancelled. :D

The DC thing seems very low key so far - a few thousand, no organised speeches so far ...
Precious little footage ... I was watching a local's feed on Periscope

There’s a lot of people very intent on trying to get everyone to stay away, let the twats fight each other. I think the idea is make pancakes instead.
all I can see is a collection of proud boys shouting fuck anteeefa.

Shortly after 10 a.m., Trump drove down E Street NW in his motorcade, greeting hundreds of cheering supporters who ran to the side of Freedom Plaza and clambered to catch a glimpse. He smiled and waved from a car window as people filled the street to follow his car.
“He drove right past me I saw him. He waved right past me,” one man said, squatting to collect himself.
A group of women huddled around their phone, looking at a video they took of Trump’s appearance.

“He looked fake,” one said. “I’m still shaking.”
The demonstrators, who include white nationalists, conspiracy theorists and far-right protesters from across the country, began arriving Friday afternoon, where they found a White House surrounded by steel barricades adorned with a 15-foot-long, black and white sign declaring that he was not, in fact, the winner: “LOSER.”

I'm sure with Covid, Deitsche Bank be along soon demanding another 5% tax on people selfishly working rather than helping the wider economy and going on holiday (bound to have lent to airlines and hotels)

Sadly it's looks like it's going to be more than that. :(

Suggestion in comments that it's not DC as they don't have palm trees, and a lot of the other videos uploaded by that channel are based in Florida. I know they're on the same coast, but the line probably isn't that long...

<edit: that said, it does say "heading to DC", so there's still the possibility they're all going from Florida to DC>
