US election 2020 thread

Not really. The PA count is wrapping up today and is just a question of extending Biden's lead out to maybe 100k. The networks just wanna be sure before they call it, especially given the potential for... a reaction shall we say
So, we will know today. As in today Uk time. Right?

CNN reports:

In conversations with allies in recent days, President Trump has said he has no intention to concede the election to Joe Biden, even if his path to a second term in office is effectively blocked by losses in places like Georgia and Pennsylvania.
Aides, including his chief of staff Mark Meadows, have not attempted to bring Trump to terms of what’s happening and have instead fed his baseless claim that the election is being stolen from him.
Trump’s allies have grown concerned that someone is going to have to reckon with the President that his time in office is potentially coming to an end, though they have not decided who should be the one to do it. There has been talk of potentially Jared Kushner or Ivanka Trump doing so, sources said.

CNN is loving this, they read out the following statement from the Biden campaign...

"As we said on July 19th, the American people will decide this election. And the United States government is perfectly capable of escorting trespassers out of the White House."

:D
Quite alarming to remember that the cunt has his hands on the codes until then, though.

Points being made that all the ballots counted in PA so far are the ones that arrived by election day. So if there are court disputes over counting ballots postmarked the 3rd but arrived afterwards, that doesn't affect a single one of the votes counted so far
yes, heard that on the radio earlier, man saying of all the many cases brought by trump's lawyers that's the only one that has potential merit (ballots arriving after 3rd in PA) but the way they're keeping them to one side means it may not matter, hopefully.

There are probably folks in the military/FBI who are wondering if they will really have to physically drag his ass out of the WH, whilst it will amuse us greatly, it will serously undermine the dignity of the office
Good. It should be undermined. Undermining the office of president is about the only good thing Trump has done. Every president of my lifetime has been a mass murderer. People who worry about democracy being undermined in a state as clearly racist and disfunctional as the US are looking for democracy in the wrong place.

isn't it.

Actually, given that my understanding is it's likely Biden will serve only one term, it'll be interesting to see what Harris' VPresidency is like compare to others, as she'd presumably be the presumptive nominee in 4 years time.
