Election official worked at poll station with Covid, then died
A Missouri election official who had tested positive for Covid-19 four days before the election worked at a suburban St Louis polling site, potentially exposing nearly 2,000 voters to the virus.
The person, who has since died, was an election judge at the Blanchette Park Memorial Hall voting station in Lake Charles, officials announced on Thursday, without identifying the person who died.
They added that the person had been advised after their positive test to quarantine for 14 days. The cause of death is unknown, they said.
The midwestern state has seen 200,042 infections, according to Johns Hopkins University. There have been 3,117 deaths recorded in Missouri, and 234,944 deaths nationwide.
They accept ballots until 12 November. Just as well it's not resting on them.
Fulton County (Atlanta) apparently had a Covid outbreak at the count centre over the course of the tallying which made things even more difficult to keep on trackThis is not good.

ah there's the problemJoe Biden's digital director just tweeted
ETA because apparently one of Trump's digital people tweeted this in May.
Think there are two things in the Democrats' favour. 1) A non-trivial number of Republicans and independents will vote Democrat just in order to align the senate and presidency. 2) Freshly-minted president, vice president and first lady will be a big campaigning asset.Democrats need to start a massive ground game - voter registration, awareness raising etc etc - in Georgia right about now. Dem vote always drops off in run off elections as their base switches off

President Trump does not have plans to immediately concede the election, despite Democratic nominee Joe Biden leading in key states that could deliver him enough electoral votes to declare him the winner of the 2020 presidential race, a senior aide told Fox News.
The aide told Fox News that the president’s counselors have been giving him advice in both directions, with some telling Trump that a concession is the correct thing to do, and others pushing him to continue to fight to ensure the vote was correct and legitimate.
The aide said, though, that the president “may ultimately concede.”
“He’s just not there yet,” the aide added.
Mmmmm, dunno. An earnest belief in the need for checks and balances is a thing so a number of people believe in not aligning the legislature and executiveThink there are two things in the Democrats' favour. 1) A non-trivial number of Republicans and independents will vote Democrat just in order to align the senate and presidency. 2) Freshly-minted president, vice president and first lady will be a big campaigning asset.
